Guys... been wondering on this a bit... hear hear and there so decided to go to the darkside and confirms the "Urban legend"Can you simply upgrade a 2.0L M52TUB20 to higher cc??Or isit more worth to buy a half cut engine of higher cc? or SC? Hurmmm... Sorry this is super newbie question just want to know the general things or do point me to the exact question cause im searching high and low for this info...

Bro longestdrive has stroked his M52TUB25 to 3.0 as he told me yesterday, so it is possible I guess?

hurmm i think its possible cause the bore is the same look at this:

M52TUB25 2.5 L (2494 cc/152 in³) 123 kW (170 hp) @ 5500 245 N·m (181 ft·lb) @ 3500 6500 1998 75 mm (2.95 in) 84 mm (3.31 in) 10.5:1
M52B28 2.8 L (2793 cc/170 in³) 142 kW (193 hp) @ 5300 280 N·m (207 ft·lb) @ 3950 6500 1995 84 mm (3.31 in) 84 mm (3.31 in) 10.2:1

hurmmm if its possible to mine can any sifu point out whats needed ?

for you, since your bore is lesser 76.6mm dia... you will need to bore it to 84.0mm dia... maybe can... if possible find a 2.5L block...

Hurm is it the better way to go or better transplant the whole engine?

do a transplant. cheaper, unless you dun want to pay for more cc and register the engine block...

Bro, what you meant by not paying for the CC "Evil Grin"... i thought if u transplant what can they do? they open the engine bay and straight know its not the engine? :p

Bro, if you change the engine, the engine number wont match. In the event of an accident, the insurance company wont pay out. Also you cant get through puspakom check to sell your car in the future.

If you register your engine change then it wont be a problem.

yes jus bore the cylinder to 84mm..this is known as boring rather then stroking, unless u change de crank to higher la..
then fit in the appropriate sleeve and u are almost done...

thus i need m54b30 crank for coming time project..hehe

Omy... i feel the racun starting to build up...

Bore/Stroker Method
Shopping List :
#1 Bore Block --> 84mm
#2 6 x 84mm Pistons
??? Stroker?

Cranking Method:
#1 m54b30 crank & Sleeve
#2 New Block ?

Hurmmm... shopping list need to be completed to know the $$$ involve if too much to bear better stay on the Bright Side :p

basically de block is de same from 2.0 to 3.0...its either the 3 item that play de displacement difference (piston, crank and con-rod). just change the 3 item from the 3.0/2.8 u have de extra displacement.

the cranking method u mention is actually stroking la, its de crank stroke was increase ma from 66mm (b20) to 84mm (b28), while boring method is from 80mm (b20) to 84mm (b28). you'll need to increase both bore and stroke to yield bigger displacement of 2.8. To get till 3.0/3.2, you need de s50/m54 set instead
PS: set is the 3 main item mention above la, and of cos the respective displacement head/port your current head 99

Ummm this is all German to some even me serious guys... ur talking to a complete noob who dont even know what to start with... haha

Lets Break It Down:

#1 Bore the Block to 84mm (mine is from 66mm)

With this we'll achive 1:1 which is 84 mm (3.31 in) / 84 mm (3.31 in)--> 2.8L Squared Engine

Now that's mean it'll not be able to reach 3.0L regardless... UNLESS...

#2 Get m54b30 crank set (Cranking or change the stoker

u can either stroke to 3l withe the m54b30 internals. or u can bore and stroker to 3.2 with USM3 3.2 internals. but since you have a 2.0 block, u need to bore to fit either one.

so might as well go for the 3.2 setup. pair it with the 3.2 cams, get a tune, and you can shoot for 220whp. although with an autobox, u might have more drivetrain loss.

ur ecu can support, just get it flashed to a new tune to support the 3.2. dangers, none that i can see. puspakom wont know what's inside, unless u decide to tell them. hehehe. good luck

yes bro xcrave like what u explain again..basically for your 2.0..need to do both boring n stroking

per what racuning say...3.2cams, bigger injector maybe? not sure if 2.0 is the same (2.8 n 3.2 has de same injector)..BBTB perhaps..n most important bigger brake
JPJ wont know la cos semua dalam korek-ted 2.0 block

Nice one going for 3.2 ...

Alang-alang menyeluk pekasam, biar sampai ke pangkal lengan :p

Now... If i can get my hands on this: M3 E46 Cylinder Head

Can it fit directly to My engine?

Or i just need to find this one : BMW M3 E46 Cam Shafts

http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/3/4/3/4/3/3/webimg/439012746_o.jpg

....

Then... Pistons... USM = 87mm... Hurmmmm

Can the block handle the pressure??

Also What are the rought cost of these used parts?

errr....s54 is unique to itself only.

why dont u consider a turbo kit? 2.0 with a small turbine should give u 250whp easily. :) too bad u're in KK.
