bro, E36 cannot be detected cos it is not OBD-II compliance. E38 OK. Your E38 diagnostic port in engine bay or under dashboard.

I dont think the scanner can do what the GT1 diagnostic tools can do.

Suggest that you check with or PM b33mer/iandaddy about the smg.
