glock8: the selling price vs buying price will be different cos they still need to make some profit right.. so if Ab selling for 225..they r making about 30k. i did ask Ingress, Yap Brothers..and they all gave me a region of Rm190-192k :( Anyway hv decided to keep for another yr..

regarding those car jockeys.. normally i dont use them. however once i was late for an appointment, so my boss said use the jockey and this was at Gardens. during my meeting, i was so worried thinking..whether the teenage guy know how to drive the car or not, how to press the push button...blah blah.. n when i took over, i was so mad. some of my setting became "foreign"

Agree with you on the profit margin Rachel. Don't use jockeys even if your boss tells you to. It's YOUR car and those guys may not even have driving licenses.

Just a question on your tint problem. Was the part the came off a nice rectangle without jagged edges? If it was, it's possible that your tint shop was lazy and didn't attempt to remove your road tax sticker before doing the tint - they just cut around the sticker. If so, you would have cause to go back and demand that they redo your windscreen. Before you wonder, it IS possible to remove the sticker without destroying it, if you a) do it within a few days of sticking it on, and b) do it very carefully and slowly with the help of a sharp knife or cutter to tease it out. I've done it before, because my driver stuck one on at an angle wihich irritated me much. :)

Sounds like a possible fuel float problem?

Thank bro.

Have anyone encounter this before? Roughly how much will the float cost for E34?

all cars have the same way to moneuver...by steering wheel. why would the newer bmw be different? using a joystick is it?.

I have had my driving license for more than 20 years and of course, been driving as long la.. not just keep the license and use a chauffeur.. :D .. and the cars I have driven and familiar with includes the small Kancil 660 to as huge as the Swedish Brick Volvo 940.

However, on the second day I use my E90, I scratched my right front rim on a curb in Taman Tun while doing side parking. Within the same week, my wife scratch the left front rim.. so that make us even.. :D and mind u she has been driving our Proton Perdana for more than 5 years, daily to work, and it was fine all this while with the Perdana..

The short over hang of BMW makes it very different in maneuvering compare to JDM and of course the low ground clearance too.

I totally understand Rachel's fear because her side skirt was dented at the SC ram which required some body work after the normal routine service... and the accident happened when the car was being serviced..

Those who use jockey service frequently sure have their own share of horror story to tell.. well, I guess that sums it all..

if u ask what market price is...rm 225k is the correct answer. U have a choice to leave all the hard work of selling a car to those dealers and lost 30% or take all the hassle and get the rm225k selling price.:top:

But to get the RM225 selling price, you'd have to fix whatever needs fixing, detail up the car, and offer a 1 year warranty like the Premium Approved cars offered by the official dealers. :D

I think 200k is about right for your 325i Sports in today's market Rachel. I just insured mine for 210k, acknowledging a 100K value drop in 1 year.

Wow, now I feel better.. I bought my pre-reg 320i at 220k while another member got his for RM199k one week after my purchase. That's 20k depreciation in a week!

On its first anniversary to renew the insurance, I was only offered RM158k as agreed value for the car which is I believe the buy price offered by dealers. That works out to RM62k depreciation in a year.. which is a lot better than Schwepps RM100k

So much for being a "stakeholders" to German premium performance car technologies! I guess we can now proudly say we are part of it.. :stupid: .. and I manage to get BMW Credit to fund for it.. yes, selling the car today can't redeem the loan.. :p jia-lat! I guess I should thank BMW Credit for letting me use "their" car.. :D at a price of course.. *&^%$#@!!

Don't be disheartened astro ;) It's not a function of the car or technology. It's a function of the market demand in today's economy, in the used car markets here and in neighbouring countries. Even the best value holders - Merc, Toyota and Honda - have taken a beating. If you're selling a French or Italian car, you may not even get any offers. I know someone who's selling his 4 year old French and he got 1 offer...below 20k, take it or leave it. Even national cars do better, because there's demand for them.

My car's road tax is up for renewal this month, how much do I insure it for? It's a Dec 2006 325i.

I am looking for a 156 Alfa Romeo for less than 20k. Can get???? ok la top it to another 10k??

For my car renewal, i can push to rm190k limit with MAA insurance. But at the end, I went for rm210 with Alliance.

Rachel, Allianz has a very good tie-up wif BMW Credit. Check tis out:
BMW Comprehensive Motor Insurance

How much could I push a December 2006 325i for next year, let's say December 2010 ? Thinking of upgrading to a 5'er.

Where would I get a better deal, with BMW or 2nd hand dealers ?

It all depends on the used car scenario then, and it's not possible to guess what that will be in December 2010.

Seems like trading it back with BMW is the safest bet.

AFTA will that ever come in effect ? We got some people back in charge now..who want to see Proton still have an advantage...but who knows..

Even if AFTA kicks in, I guess all the car prices will drop, be it new or pre owned, so the margin wont be that much different I hope. Hopefully don't have to dig to deep in to my pockets.

reading this thread from page 1 till 6 , made me think. starting with fuel indicator ending with AFTA. dont get me started on the middle part. lol
