Hmmm, I am at about the RM60 range for 300km (mixed driving).

During my last Ipoh trip, I averaged RM50 for 300km (highway driving), which is bloody good for an E34.... but was strictly running at 110kmh. :D

I doing about 270km for RM60 worth of fuel. Mix Driving 70% T0wn 30% Highway.

For me.., RM50.00 for 190km small town drive..

Kalau hujan dan ribut, i think it will gained more km...hehehe... :D :D :D

Eh.. how come you guys got so good FC ah ?

Mine only get about RM65 (40 litres) get me 250km max. Am I missing anything here ? 2.5Litre engine. or are you guys talking about 2.0 ?
my car engine is M50B25. RM60 for 270km. Mix driving, but never whack the car.
If whack the car all the way..I think will get around 200km +/- only.
Drive from Kelantan to KL about 460KM is only about RM75 worth of fuel. Just cruising around 110-120km/h.

Just pump the fuel today.........RM96 for 500km town drive but not too heavy traffic......mine is M20b20 manual.....using Projet 92.......

Old engine - 226 bhp - RM 55 - RM 60 for 320km - mix driving
New enigne - tak tau lagi ... :nyehehe:

wah....it's almost similar to 1.6l fuel consumption.
What engine is that?

New engine = bi-something = double the old engine

so the equation goes like this...

New engine - 500 bhp - RM 55 - RM 60 for 160km...

double the FUN = double the FUND.... but there's a lot of fun here....

:yahoo:

mine's also m20b25. i think keeping the RPM well under 4000 most of the time on highways should do the trick...

3000 ++ RPM will be already about 120 - 140 km/h. enough la for a slow driver like me :D :D

On the highway, the e34 is sipping fuel. Rm100 (full tank) for about 700kms. Cruising around 140km/hr. :)

Thanks. Any special gift for that???

It seems that the E34 is really jimat. But guys, I'm new here and don't know much on the engine code. I am interested in the 525i, but not so sure which between the 12V and 24V will be more cost effective in term of the FC and mantainence.

Currently, I'm driving Perdana V6 (5 year old), daily mileage approx 100km. I'm thinking to offload my wife's lousy Gen2 and will let her drives the V6. That is why I'm hunting for a nice reliable car for myself.

It's great being here among the sifu's, and I am confident that I will be making a right decision. Before this, my impression on BMW was Banyak Makan Wang.....

I have not actually test drive any E34. If any of you have nice one for sale, please inform me.

Thanks guys.

Both 12V and 24V inline 6 engines are pretty reliable. In fact the the 24V engines (m50) are the grandfather of all the new BMW engines...BMW has fine tuned and incorporated more and more features over the years...vanos, double vanos, aluminium block and now magnesium block.

Personally, I would recommend you to get the 24V engine. More torque, hp, smoother and offers a better driving experience. Last but not least, for a heavy car like an e34, the 525 would be a better choice :)

You're looking for auto or manual E34?
I got 1 friend selling his E34 M50B20. Mean 2.0l 24V engine with manual tranny.
The car is in very good condition.
I personally will buy that car if I didn't found my current car.

Agreed wit Albundy......Go for 525 24V.....if possible with Vanos.....Don't buy 520 especialy 12V, u'll regret just like me...... :(

But very hard to look for manual tranny.
Anyone have manual tranny complete set for M50 engine??? (gearbox, flywheel, clutch set, clutch pump, manual pedal).
Wanna swap with my auto tranny? :D
