If performances is what you are after such as going from stock to stage 1,2 or 3 then stick with the Passat CC. Otherwise go for the BMW.

You buy a Passat when you don't have the guts to buy a BMW. Its a brave ex-Camry owner who after weeks/months of consultation with a thousand people, decides to move upmarket and get something German......a VW. Congrats!

Doc, I salute u lah!

After driving Accord and Camry for the lst 18 years, now I am driving BMW 328i (F30). The feel is just incredible. Although the financial burden is something need to worry about. But I still feel that it is a worthy decision I made. So go for BMW bros....

Well, Working with a private seller whenever you are getting a brand new automobile could be really difficult. Private sellers do not generally have enough experience to help you figure out if the vehicle meets your needs. That is why I went directly to a dealership in Houston to find my BMW. I saved and worked hard to get the brand new vehicle, and I am very pleased with the BMW I wound up with when I left the car dealership. If you go to BMW Houston TX , you can find an excellent car dealership for you.

I'm glad you're enjoying your new F30 :) It's definitely a big difference when it comes to performance, comfort and NVH. Financially it might be a burden but it's better to be poor with a BMW than a bike (or nothing) :D

Didnt know thst bmwclubmalaysia not welcoming non bmw owner to check opinion. Too bad I not as rich as u to own a bmw, better keep my mouth shut from now on. To those who gave me sincere opinion, many thanks.

ignore the comment...i've decided to get the F30,but waiting for the right spec...Passat CC is a sexy looker!at least u chose a German!!Audi would've been good too...BUT, if the doink BMW Malaysia doesn't bring in the spec tat i'm expecting like how a BMW shud be marketed with options of specs,i too would do away with BMW!!But nothing is as ULTIMATE as a BMW,unless u go upper-upper mkt to a Porsche,Maserati or Bentley!a BMW is a BMW coz even though i found my love with the F30, i still love all BMW ranges even from the 70s,80s till now!!The 'kidney' grilles + blue/white rotary emblem is always an eye-catcher!

Made the right choice there...Hammond n gang of Top Gear UK reviewed the F30 with 9/10 score!

1. what you expect when you pose a question to BMW club malaysia, i expect the same if i go to VAG group and ask if F30 is better than Passat.

2. Docray NEVER say about money . the Brave here is DARE to to own. in fact i think you are daring person to own a passat CC brand new is RM269,888 after 1 year its selling around 220k from mudah.my thats is nearly 50k depreciation a year . for a 2008 release car which has 7 year lifespan ( left 4 year ) since facelift is release last year you could get around 120 ~ 130k for car when sell in 2016 so , i guess you are richer since capax is lower but opex is longer. but hey passat cc come with 5 year warranty. except my friend passat cc sport got whistle sound at high speed around 180, the Service center told him their warranty is for issue bellow 90Km/h. after all you are talking about a car that is going to cost more than 200k. might as well be the "one" else just get a myvi when sell can make some money some more , and sure sell within a week.

THis is the bloody problem with Malaysians and the Internet. All about Team A or Team B. Jan is just here to ask, not to compare or provoke. It's not about what to expect ... It's about just giving plain opinions. If the BMW is a better buy then so be it. If the Audi is a better buy then so be it. Why the need to have the YOU CAN EXPECT SUCH TREATMENT replies?

That is why after all these year in hobby forums, I hate to say it but I shall, the forums overseas DO NOT treat people this way. It happens a lot less. If someone asks something and is not trolling, there is a lot of assistance BUT they do not tell you that you have come to the wrong place to ask the wrong question.

Perception is an important thing. If you can understand it.

I here to ask her senior sifu and otai otai with opinions since u guys drove a bmw or bmw/s.

When anyone asking for opinion, one expect honest opinion.

The end note I received from one of the comments was full of sarcastic remarks. Especially, with the end note - Congrats.

In any case, lets close the case. We shall move on. My apologies should if offended anyone here. Hopefully I can be a f30 owner soon and join u guys for tt.

No offense but oversea forum do not use personal attack like I am not as rich as you statement
Thus the low level rebuttal remark . You can do constructive statement towards an object not towards person . Like yours statement toward me I am ok with it since its not directed to me but to generalize the ideal

You might want to check how much the Passat CC went for a year ago. Price has been climbing, over the past couple of years from its initial introduction. I would say that VW's do hold their 2nd hand value better than BMWs. One of our forumers here bought a 2007 E90 325i M Sport new at 300+k and a few months later bought a 2nd car a new MK5 Golf GTI for 200+k. When he recently went to the used car dealer to take in his E90 with lower mileage than his GTI they offered him RM120k, but offered RM130k for the Golf GTI.

for passat the climb here is due to increment of Tax by custom 2 years ago. the Passat which have 4 more good year before new production release . like e90 after F30 come out, the old model price plummet due to fantastic offer by BMW to clear out old stock, the same apply to all model even my old e60 is not spared. thus the rational of some who buy car when they release and sell it and near of its lifecycle to maintain lesser depreciation.

then again factor of economic come in play such and demand and stuff. GTI is more sought after than e90 unfortunately . thus the high resell value .But then again all car is depreciation not appreciation. thus i go with jezzal recommendation since its your car choose the color and spec you want not based on its resell value in years to come. if you like funcky lime green go with it. not buy car to resell it.

Could be all due to supply and demand. Want to buy a new VW you'll have to wait for months sometimes. A new BMW typically can be in your driveway within 2 weeks from date of order or less. Also BMW Malaysia is notorious to offer a lot of pre-reg deals and end of year sales for new and pre own/demo cars, which impact used car prices. How many of us has bought our new BMWs in the past with massive discounts.

That's just my theory.

BTW, the launch price of the Passat CC in Malaysia was RM239k a couple of years ago. If a used one 2 years later is RM220k from Mudah its one of the best depreciation for a German premium car.

also remember BMW is SKD , Passat is CBU. so local 2nd hand buyer will prefer CBU over SKD. and Passat over 5 years warranty .

all this is buy car using head. using heart even my passat cc sport buddy tested my f10, regretted ever since why he did not get bmw.
