i have 2 customer already asking me whether i can open the boot for F10but the problem is there is no key hole in F10and i contacted the BMW it is not possible to have key inside boot but car owner can lock the boot. But in actual case it happened (maybe under certain special circumtances), i would like to ask F10 user to try to put your key inside boot and lock it (ofcause you must have spare key ready before you do this).

Tried (by firstly locking all the doors and thereafter just unlock & open the boot and place the key in the boot, then shut the boot) and yes, it is possible to automatically lock the boot with the key inside it-so be careful. Few years ago I accidentally locked my E60 key in the boot-my wife had to drive 40 odd kms one way just to bring her spare key to unlock my boot. Needless to say she was not too pleased.

I dont know how your Boot can open without opening your Doors :hmmmm2: I cant lock my Key in my Boot as i need to unlock my doors before i can be able to unlock my boot :burnout:

Yup bro how in the 1st place to open the boot if the door is lock...

aku ada stereng lori dan bas......kau ada....

It is possible to just open the boot without unlocking other doors-when all the doors are locked, just press the button under the BMW logo on your key fob-your boot will open while other doors remain locked. Once you close the boot again the boot will automatically relocked.

Think bro miss something here..
The issues is here if your key fall or miss place in the boot and all doors are in lock position....

In my earlier E60 incident what happened was that I went to my parked and locked car, I pressed the button on my key fob to just open the boot. While loading my heavy stuff into the boot I absent-mindedly put the key on my stuff and I only realised it while I was pushing the boot lid down and…… the lid locked with the key still on my stuff in the boot (and all other doors remained locked). So to answer Val101’s earlier post, it is possible to open the boot without unlocking other doors by just pressing the relevant button on the key fob (and then the boot would automatically relocked once the lid is closed (and other doors remain locked)).

that is too bad, that means there is no way to open the boot if you have no second fob present

For my F30, all doors will automatic unlock simultaneously with the opening of boot when i press boot release button on the keyfob.
i guess this is the new setting to prevent key being locked in the boot.

Thats good. My F10 still follows the E60 style. Not sure how the new F10 LCI models with contactless tailgate function (where you just move your foot under the rear bumper to open the tailgate) handle this i.e. unlock all doors or just the boot.

pehhh...dah cuba, walaupun pintu depan boleh dibuka, pump tak function, so u tak boleh tekan unlock button utk unlock vehicle, button rear bonnet pun tak function, than the sistem pun tak boleh start engine sbb ia tak boleh detect kunci...so kena test masa ada dua dua kunci, sbb masa i kat mercedes dulu, utk model S class, ia takkan lock bonnet, so u boleh buka guna manual...

f10 boot will be locked if accidentally put the key FOB inside, but M6 e63 have this special unlocking feature,if u put the key inside your boot, when you slam your bonnet,it lock but beep 3 times, then boot re open again:D
but M5 e60 have no this special feature....

I confirm that the f10 skd models except maybe the M5 or the 535i would not reopen the boot if you mistakenly left your remote and locked the boot. Tried this with the SA and spare key in hand, just in case
