Had any overheating problems lately? Check in the engine oil cap to see any 'mayonnaise' inside (water inside the engine, mixed with oil).

Wow got 'mayonnaise' inside the expansion tank he..he.. btw bro PJG_318i maybe you can try to ask your mechanic to flush it and see any improvement.

It could the heat exchanger for the gearbox. The seal are broken. you need to change it.

The heat exchanger is located on the bottom right side of the radiator. (directly below the expansion tank).

check the thermostat for the heat exchanger located in the radiator.

Just to ask... ive met with a mech (just came back from denmark) i was told that all these thermostat and stuff in the radiator system can be removed in our climate since its used for CONTI-Car in Winter and such... in our country its best if the radiator can perform a continuous cooling effect... ehat the thermostat used for is to allow a certain portion of the water remain heated to avoid the water from being frozen... THEREFORE... when this fail we face overheating...

Why not just remove all those things and let the temp sensor control the speed of the fan... more free coolant movement= cooler radiator = more power to the engine = less stress on the fans...

What say you?

Greetings bro, do make your self to the Newbie section and do a self intro there....:top:

As for your problem, true to wht bro haywire says, you might hv a gasket issue. Worst is you hv your cylinder cracked! Try do a simple trouble- shoot by removing your radiator cap and than try starting the engine. If water shoots out of the radiator, confirmed you have a damaged gasket. Get it replace coz it can lead to worst woes that will cost you time and money :(
