Im using E30 m20 for almost 4 months now and i found that theres engine oil at the spark plugs socket..and im also experienced problem during startup..take a while before the engine working, so..any suggestions or solutions since im quite new with this machine..

Are you sure it is engine oil at the plugs. It maybe fuel, which mean the tuning is too rich hence something need to be adjusted. If it is really oil... OUCH!

hmmm... suggest you take it to your workshop for a checkup ASAP.

When stating during cold start does it vibrate for a while before it stablelise?
If yes then the cylinder head gasket is already worn out. Need to overhauld.

from what i understand, its pretty common with oil on the thread of your plug, as long as your center electrod and the leg is not soaked with oil then its ok

well..thanks guy...its really engine oil that i saw..and it is saoking the plugs..
phew..got to see some men with tools again...

Dude, check the valve cover gasket (sometimes also called engine cover gasket). On my M50, that was the culprit.

Yo, I agree with Al, I had my valve cover gasket replaced rcently because the engine oil was fouling my plugs. The threads were wet too.! This is, of course, provided your exhaust fumes are not black.. if it is then possibly too, your piston rings are going...

Juz sharing..

Dendroaspiss...bring her to w/shop..Ah Wai is near to your place..never experienced that before, sorry cannot help you...

yup...gonna take my ride to see the mech..thanks..anyone can estimate if only the valve cover gasket need to change?

Sounds like the valve cover gasket. I think I paid RM100+ to buy the gasket and the 2 gaskets for the spark plug holes.

Just changed my plugs yesterday, the upper part is soaking with oil on one plug, not too bad on others, workshop boss (Chu Seng, Penang) said it's definitely valve cover gasket... will hafta change that soon, shouldn't be too much of a hassle, estimated 2-hour job.

The electrodes on my used plugs are dry, in fact still pretty good condition, no worn electrodes, no soot, not too light in colour (when too lean), in general engine health is okay, at 185k km.

what did the chicken said went it crossed the road......CHEEEAP CHEEAP CHEEAP!

:D

what will happen if we ignore and dun change the vavle cover gasket?

ever considered the oil level? is it within the recommended perimeters?

mm..havent check oil level yets but last time checking still within perimeter...also want to know what happen if i dont change the valve cover gasket..since i've went to ah wai and he said since he cant see the leak..then its all o.k la...hehe..ok for me too..but my fuel pump got tired...changed it last week..and got new problem..after 50-60 km running...the car started to semput2..after stop about 10 minutes..then ok ....asking all sifus here..pleassee..
