Thanks. I will do the scan first to be certain whether the problem is with the servo motor or the eccentric shaft sensor.

Oh shit!!! After 5 month of changing the valve tronic motor, the EML light come back again. Today it come out n I off n on the engine few time only it when off. I send to workshop n check it said the valve tronic faults. Terry8 do u hav the same problem since u change urs almost same time as mine.

I have replaced the servo motor for my wife E87 a month ago at Optimum, brand new. All in cost me RM950. So far, touch wood, it is ok. One mechanic in Glenmarie told me actually the servo motor is serviceable as the mechanism is something like a starter motor. They replace some sort like a carbon at the cost of about 200+. Not sure whether it will last.

Shit... I had paid for the price of new unit valve tonic motor... But after they took of the cover only I realize it is the old motor which had some mark been knock before... I ask the workshop y u charge me new motor but now it a old unit. He said he also don't know as he also past to another workshop to fix due the last time he can't find a solution on my problem. Now he get a new one n install back for my but still wan to charge me the new unit price of 500. This kind of deal I would said last and won't b going back to same workshop again.

Had the same problem recently when driving to hometown, okay all the way from penang, but once exited jasin toll the EML went on and no engine power, felt no response when pressing the gas pedal. Turn off the engine and restarted, works okay for a few moment then it repeats itself. It was late so have to continue journey.

Still can drive with the EML indicator but acceleration and speed were severely hampered. Top speed is limited to 60kph no matter which gear I engage - the car is a manual. Managed to limp all the way to destination, the next morning started the car and EML immediately goes on. After a few days thinking that there is no hope, remembered a conversation with bro zidee where he was asked to knock/whack the VVT motor. Whacked the motor with spanner #13 from the toolset and the engine works fine again. This was during raya haji holiday and the engine has been running fine since.

During the error occurance, there was an error in the DME about VVT power emergency. Last week, at the workshop we found that the fuse connecting to the power amp is hot and the casing melted due to being hot. I'm concluding that the VVT EML error is due to voltage instability caused by voltage drop at the hot wire to the amp. What can't be concluded is that why knocking the VVT motor fixes the problem.
