E93 ABS Pump/ ABS control unit problem

Sigh!! My 2007 E93 ABS light just comes on. The DTC, ABS lights in yellow are all on!! Total 4 of them!! Sent the car to check today, the mechanic said need RM15000 for the new part and RM3800 for a used 1. WT???????!!!! Such a huge amount to fix for a 2007 car. Then when i browse through only i knew it was a common problem for the E9x BMW!! Im so frustrated now:motz:. Anyone help??

Bro badrul880 had the same experience with his E92 but fortunately it was still covered under warranty, his problem was fixed with no charge.

Yeah, mine is like super unfortunate. They actually suggest me to get the 2nd hand unit but I'm doubt bout the source of the stock. If nothing happen to the unit ppl wouldn't replace it. And so where is the 2nd hand stock come from?

Someone checked before recently. There's 2 components involved, the pump and the control module, they each cost about RM6k before markup by the workshop. For a friend's case, after double check and double check, because dowan to change the wrong thing ma. Changing the module solve the problem. So u need to make sure what spoiled or u gonna waste an extra RM6k or more.

Get the authorised dealer to check first and give you a quote. Try nego for goodwill warranty lor, to at least save you the labor charge if they refuse part claim. CKD right?!

Check out with K & S Auto in USJ 1. They are capable to rebuild it. Sometimes it's only the SZL Steering module or the speed sensor that trigger the DSC error. Just did mine. Please avoid the used parts as the different part no. will contribute to a communication failure with the system and may not allow reprogramming.

Hi Bro is it nearby USJ Summit area ? i did check mine it came out with pressure sensor plausibility error, my brakes feel abit deep but there is no error lights. Went and check with few specialist and confirmed its the DSC unit problem. Wonder if they could fix it without replacing it

Guys... i had the same issue with the ABS sensor last few days.. i hope it is not brake pump faulty or my poket will koyak... RM10k++ fly away... i just sent my car for 60k service at AB Glenmarie 2 weeks ago..so no more warranty or free service after this. Actually, the same error or problem happened twice to me, in 2010 (20k milleage) and 2011 (40k milleage). Lucky both incidents happened when the car is still under 2 years parts warranty. Both incidents caused by sensor fault and no issue with the brake pump as told by SA. So, this will be the 3rd times it failed. i really hope it is not the brake pump.

i need a recommendation to all sifus here what should i do next... should i go to local workshop such as K&S Auto for checking and repair..or should i go direct to AB Glenmarie again..asking for goodwill warranty if possible. The car milleage is now 60500km and this is the 3rd time the same problem happened.

thanks bro..i'm thinking to do as what suggested by bro FIRZ67... i've lost my trust to AB technician... this is my 3rd times experiencing the same problem... i cannot understand why they cannot detect the problem when i sent my car for 60k service 2 weeks back. normally from my understanding, all electronic components must have an indicator when it is going to fail. Is this what AB says so called 72 check point? Are they doing it every time we send for servicing or just a bullsh*t thing to attract people.

anyway, will go there ASAP.

You may go and check with K&S Auto and at the same time may check with AB if there is any goodwill warranty available. Mine was diagnose with steering angle sensor fault but one of the workshop concluded it is a hydro unit. Finally when brought to K&S, it is just a minor repair on SZL module and the problem resolved.Even K&S claimed that they also have experience in repairing the DSC module and ABS pump which only cost around 2-3k with 6 months warranty. You may give them a try.

My red riding hood finally had a full check up, it's confirmed the ABS pump. ProAuto submitted the claims to Opal at Rm14k for d pump and rm66 for the brake fluids. Need to wait next week for installation......nonchrges made tO me today,mp us they wash and vacuum d car nicely. Very good service and personalized.they even SMS me then updates by mid day. Free flow of Nasir lemak and coffee.....any bro on Opal warranty, I recommend to go there
