Tyres

Daniel

You can have a look at the date of manufacture on tie sidewall.. at least you will know what year and then guestimate whether its time to change...

3 of my tyres are 2010 and one is 2009, so decently ok, though can't say I am a fan of the run flats...

I have already paid for my Breyton GTS 20" so just waiting to see if anyone will take my 19" off me... someone is looking for a trade at the moment, so waiting on those...

Thanks...will check it out....20".....that's huge.....I find with my stock 19", it's difficult to drive around....pot holes, bumps and etc....stressful sometimes.....

Daniel - am already running 19"s on my e39... and the 20" can't be any worse than the 19" run flats... so just need to be careful for potholes and speed bumps

Anyway, my view on Z / ZR rated tyres is that they are only good for around 15K km(20K kmmax). They go off even if lots of thread wear.. I shudder when I hear friends trying to get 30K or 40K out of the tyre... I have heard of quite a few storied of the sidewall suddenly going on these when run past 20K km and if that happens at speed, you will likely have a pretty bad accident or at the very least, damage your rims.. so it doesn't pay to scrimp on rubber IMHO

By the way, the acceration is really nice, for an auto.....but paddle shifts are weird. Pull to move 1,2,3,4,5,6 and press to 6,5,4,3,2,1. Feels strange. I would prefer otherwise.

Easy mod to make the paddle shifts work like in F1 cars (left paddle pull downshift, right paddle pull upshift). Just swap the wires on the left paddle around and you're done! I did this mod myself. :) Search online, someone's written a guide on how to do it. It's easy.
