The fuel filter is located underneath the rear seat.

As for hesitation at low rpm, degraded vanos seals is common for M54 engine and many of our members have replacement done to resolve this.

Check out feedback on vanos seals replacement....http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/newforums/index.php?/topic/20028-feedback-on-beisan-vanos-seals-replacement/

More details of vanos here.... http://www.beisansystems.com/
Thanks for the advice ... im also suspecting the Vanos Seals after some research , i have all the symtomps , cold start shake ,high fuel consumption (4.5-5.5km/l) and weak low end ,after 4000revs the engine feels like suddenly wakes up ...

Roughly how much would this job cost me ? And is there is any workshop around klang valley / cheras area that familiar with the Vanos Seals replacement job ...

Thanks again for the info , really appreciate it =D

A few workshops keep stock of vanos seal kit and they are PKL Motorsports, Optimum Motorsports and WP Auto. Use Mr Goggle to check for contact and location details. Workshops are retailing the double vanos seal for about RM 250 to RM 270 and labor charge should be another RM 200 to RM 250. Take about 3 to 4 hours to complete the job.

Or you can diy……… ..shud be very interesting…. .m54 is simpler than the m52……

I diy on my previous m52 e39… .

Thanks Herbert for the info ... i think i will let Milan Motors do this job .

Moots , not so dare to diy on Vanos , seems so complicated ... haha
