tinman,

all this while I did my service at AB Segambut. I did complaint on the black smoke and immediately they response the breather valve stuck and the hose leak. The breather valve cost me only RM250.00.

The frequency of cleaning should about once every year. U will be suprise to find out a lot of slug at throttle body and intake manifold.

Other than this diesel is strongly recommended. I am very satisfied customer

Hi R37720,
Thanks for you input on maintenance. Slug possibly due to diesel quality? Any sort of special additive needed for your fuel to offset this? The positive feedback fr you and tinmen are reassuring..
Major complaint fr owners seem to be external engine noise especially when cold. How's internal sound insulation like? Have heard that the 530d is one of the best diesels around.
Thanks.

Once you are inside the car, you will never know this is a diesel car. That is how I got tricked by AB when I first test drive the car. They asked me to go inside with ignition off, close the door and start the engine. After few round of of impressive driving, the SA asked me " Do you know that you are driving diesel car"?..... love at the first sight....:burnout:

That's impressive....Someone mentioned in other threads that there is vibration when idle. Is noise level and vibration lower after putting in a few k mileage?
Thanks.

I do not encounter any viration on my car at idling so far. That vibration just a matter of tuning

Noise level of course superb ... no difference than other petrol

Hi Guys,
went for a test drive on a 525, both petrol and diesel at AB. They are great cars and the torque on the latter is really something. Seriously looking at getting one. One of the "good" problem which I'm facing is deciding on getting a 2005 model with extremely low mileage vs 2006 with mileage in mid teens.
An old model with low mileage arouses suspicion ie not that I think AB manipulated anything but more on condition of the car. Appreciate some comments from the gurus..

Go for diesel .... you will be the king of the road ..hahaha.. there are a lot of forummer will advice you how to look after diesel. Full tank can give you more than 800+ KM. Estimated to be 10-15 cents/km with current RM1.58/liter

Thanks R37720. I'm more towards diesel as it is, however not discounting the petrol version if can get a good deal. There are a couple of 2005 d models which have extremely low mileage < 1k (!). Sounds too good to be true! An engine with such low mileage after > 2yrs may have problems, eh? Will need to talk to the technical folks to get their history..
Cheers.

Hi Guys,
just booked a pre-owned 525d. Definitely going to be a great experience driving a conti after 20 yrs of Japanese cars, reliable though they are.

congrats

she will take your breath away. .go easy without the torque.2800rpm 230km/h. 3200rpm 250km/h. ps what colour is she. and my two cents use petronas diesal.

Thanks Tinman,
She's sapphire black with black interior with Aerody kit and 18 inch alloys. Sure sets the heart racing... She was my pick after test driving Audi, Volvo and the 525 petrol. My test drive on her was exhilarating and a real eye opener.
Yeah, I heard that Petronas Diesels the best of the lot.
Cheers and merry xmas and happy new year to all the forumers..
