hi guys, I'm quite new to BMW club Malaysia. I'm in the market for an E60 and I would like to know the following : 1. Does all E60 models come with Xenon as standard or is it a factory option ? 2. Is there any common problems with the E60 I should look out for ? 3. Would it be advisable to buy the 523i ? or is it very worth it to get the 525i ?4. Whats the average waiting list now from Auto Bavaria ? I'm only going to AB this weekend, so if you gents can help me now it would be great ! thanks and take care.

1. Yes, it comes standard. Please enquire from AB if we need JPJs approval on the said item. This was in the local daily recently. Please post their response in this thread.
2. You won't realize this till you purchase and drive the car for awhile, but squeeky noises from the inner door rubber lining is the culprit, and its inherent. Otherwise ok, but one other member has complained about like idrive malfunction.
3. The power difference between the 525 and 523 is obvious, furthermore, the 525 comes with the latest handsome sports trimmings that the 523 doesn't. I just despise the rims on the 523. Its synonymous to wearing a Gucci suit with Bata shoes.
4. I don't know, but should be about 2-3weeks.

Which AB outlet will you be visiting??

Cheers

1) You will find out from AB. Option depending on models. 530i gets all of it.
2) Some interior rattles that some complained about, nothing mechanical or electronic to worry about. Its proven tech.
3) I did not know a 523 existed. It was 520i 525i 530i 530d models as I recall. The 520 had a 2.2 litres straigh six that generates 170hp. Way good enough.
Only get the 530i if you have the money to spare or you needed to keep up with your Porsche/ Merc AMG friends.
4) Ask AB. depends on which model you want and whats already available.

Good luck! E60 is a very nice car.

Hello all,

I am new to this place, was wondering who sells all the ACS, Breyton wheels and kits in the Klang Valley for the E60.

At least a reliable supplier? B) Am planning to fit my E60 with some cool wheels and body kit. Any suggestions?

xcell60....you're not alone with this annoying squeaking sounds....somewhere at the back.....cant really locate either the door lining or the backseat itself.

Bimmer, no worries, about the extra sound, it kind of int'l issues....

On the other hand, e60 is one of the sexy thing on the road....

Thanks alot for the answers xcell60 & E34EuroTouring,
they certainly helped me clear up a few things about the e60.

For the newer models of E60s, there wont be anymore 520i.
That model has been replaced with the 523i with a de-tuned 2.5 (177hp/230Nm)

Still undecided about which 5-er to get, but the 525i looks so tempting.

- R6 2.5l (218hp/250Nm)
- M light alloy wheels Double Spoke 135M with runflat tyres (18”).
- Satin Chrome black finishing.
- Sunblinds for rear window, electric, and for rear side windows, mechanical.
- Sports seats for driver and front passenger.
- Interior trim finishers in Aluminium Cube pure.
- Extended lights package.
- M sports suspension.
- M sports leather steering wheel.
- M Aerodynamics bodykit package.
- M rear spoiler.
- Individual headliner Anthracite black.

I won't be able to check with AB till I come back from Overseas,
so in the mean time I'll have to think it through again. RM 400+k ain't cheap. :D

Thanks again guys ! cheers !!

hello bimmer,

firstly, i would like to share the same dilema? i had when deciding on the two.

Finally settled for the 523i for the following reasons:

i. 40bhp the extra power? i hardly use it, also 218 bhp for RM410K is way too much to pay. Both engines are as fun to drive.

ii. the body kit is nice, but nicer ones can be bought also for a little less?

iii. the M sports suspension ~ if you like rides that way, go for it, otherwise i leave it as an OPTION, if you plan to have softer ride~ can upgrade later mah..

iv. the run flat tires...careful with that one, it is expensive to replace, also nobody want your wheels if you are trading in. You can check it out with those dealers first to see what they say..

v. Can't say much abou the Antracite, don't like it personally.

So..hope that helps....and yes...hate those 523i wheels AB supplied...

BTW my car arrived in 3 weeks, Olivin color, according to the salesperson it depends on the color you choose.

p/s: apologies for the earlier post on bodykits and wheels, did not meant to steal ur thread.

I am sorry but I don't understand the sentence. What does the colour depend on????

bimmer,

The squeeky noises I mentioned are solvable. I brought my car in to AB for this purpose, and now it is squeeky free.

boydf,

The noise you are referring to is from the rear dash, behind the seats. I have that noise upon negotiating uneven roads. Will be fixing it next week.

Cheers

Depends on combination it appears. The exterior body colors + interior colors. Mine is Olivin + Beige interior. It was available in 2 weeks+1 week paperwork, but for Olivin + Grey interior, maybe longer time. etc. etc.

Dunno how AB decides what or which comes first, but at the point of purchase you can ask them what is in the pipe line, my guess is they order some configuration (popular color combinations) and if you are lucky?? you get your car sooner.

HTH, Cheers!
