My exprience on quad exhaust:-

E39 - Just extend another pipe after existing muffler just for the look. Cant find any aftermarket quad for E39. No power increase but got nice swoosh sound like supercharger when ram at high rpm.

If ur engine is 2.8 onward .......

Can try to install the original M3 exhaust ......Sound sweet.......

Of cause u need to cut the spare tire tank but not tat difficult actually .......
