Dear Sifu, just noticed this issue recently. The Engine coolant temperature reading unstabil, up and down between 2/4 to 3/4 at the panel. Anyone come across this and what to do about it. Please advice, thanks.

Most prob your thermostat problem. The best check wt good BMW mech on your cooling system to avoid more issue

Original water pump RM580. Car is E46 318i (2000cc) year 2004. I think this is expensive.

After checking this thread, many members here listed that the original only costs between RM350-RM380. I cannot verify the price with Bomin or Bavarian Auto as today is Sunday.

Checking with you members could be faster here, especially those of you with very recent experience changing this part.....

BA is selling about RM350 for ori. OEM ones can go as low as RM180. Both prices are for M54B25. Don't think should differ much for your ride.

The workshop insists that the water pump pricing for this engine is dearer (N46B20)

I would agree with wingzee if it is a M54B25.

Anyone out there using N46?

Ya, waterpump price for n42/n46 is more than those on m54...
