Sorry to hear from your loss...
The most important thing to do now is to send your beloved UDM to a specialist (which you have done but obviously, a wrong workshop).
No offense, but you may try my favorite mechanic - M. S. Motor at No. 314M, Jln Chan Sow Lin. Make a phone and make appoinment with the Boss - Ah Keong. They have been around for quite some times and handling mostly BMW... check yourself at their workshop. As personally, I'm very please with their service and the charges are reasonable.

Dear all,

I brought my UDM 5 months ago, didn't send my car to specialist to check the car condition. Just test drive few times then deal. Send my car to wear and tear repair, found out engine leaking like hell..

My 1st service-
1) Auto Trans Gasket - 180
2) Auto Trans Filter - 140
3) Oil Sum Gasket - 180
4) Valve Cover Gasket - 280
5) Oil Filter Housing Gasket - 60
6) Water Top Hose - 250
7) Oil Filter - 45
8) Shell Helix Ultra 5 liter - 262.5
9) Auto Trans Lifetime Oil 8 liter - 560
10) Coolant - 45
11) Labour - 350
Total = 2352.5

Found out the engine still leaking..
Replace Valve Cover + Labour = 1700

The problem still can't solve, still leaking...
So I send to another workshop claim to be BM specialist
1) Diagnosis and Programming - 150
2) Oil Pan Gasket - 120
3) Seal Flange - 50
4) Vaccum Pump Oil Seal Kit - 60
5) Valve Cover Gasket Set - 338
6) Oil Filter Original - 50
7) Castrol Edge 5W-40 Fully Syn 5 Liter - 250

Total= 1543

Problem still not solve...

hello everybody,
I have e46 316i SE 2000 and I am new here.
I am very happy to see everybody is very helpful here.

I have a problem to share with otai2..
my car start to make sound like 'dub dub' when pass small bump.( i suspect bushings problems)
then, I feel sumthing strange about the handling as well.it sometime tends to move to left...
I feel so uncomfortable...
(I suspect suspension went wrong as well)
anybody with same problem?

what should I do to have a good handling/suspension?

4) 1 Qty of 9006 spotlight bulb for fog light : RM32.00

So far everything is okay except for one thing,everytime i take the L/R corner or make the 'u' turn,the sound "tick tick tick tick" will be heard,does everybody knows what was that means?

Hi to everyone,

My mechanic told me that inside the gear box got 1 piece of O'ring which can't get from dealer. You either can get the O'ring through custom made based on original O'ring or buy the whole set replace kits. Anyone can let me know where to get the cheapest gear box replace kits for E46 2.0

Helo everyone, i just got my UDM 2.0L 6 cyclinder Japanese spec. I've noticed this 2.0 engine is weird, M1 boss told me it required 7 litre of engine oil and 8 litre of ATF. Im about to do my 1st service very soon, but of course need precise info on this engine/jap spec. After i collect my car, everything seems working well, no oil licking and best of all engine looks like brand new. Interior wise, i come across a erk erk sounds from behind seats. When im driving alone, the sound seem to be not there, it happen to be when my wife sitting behind. Finally, when i go small bump roads, i heard strange sounds like steering rack lose. Already done check all the bushes, bushes still good condition, but when i jack up the car, shake both right and left wheel, then i finally heard the sound coming out from steering rack.

Hope some1 experienced can help me to solve these few problems. Thanks alot !

a/cond sw off and rpm drop to 650-700 and engine become to vibrate

I've e46 318 2.0 and millage 81k. The problem is, while normal idling speed with a/c sw on the rpm shown 950rpm and the engine in steady condition but when sw off the a/c, the rpm drop to 650-700rpm and engine become to vibrate. I asked to workshop with the specialist BMW and he has told me that maybe the oil separator comes clog and need to change and the approximately around rm800. If u all any experience of this please share with me . TQ.

My friend, i can help u buy the lifter (original BMW with warranty from spare part shop) and help u install it all u need to pay me is RM450. Just let u know. Cause i've done replaced my passenger side lifter 2 weeks ago. Dont hesistate to call me for help 012-2383871 Perry. Try ask around for the cost b4 u go replace. Cause RM620 is way too expensive, imagine wat if u replace all 4 side ? each side u safe RM170, total is RM680 !!!! My factory is repair car and lorries including tyres, sometimes i do figure out myself for my own E46. So can save money.

I see that it is so much cheaper using used AC compressor. Normal price (new) RM1,600 i guess.
Just wanna to know, where to get it and can the dealer gives sort of guarantee that it is useable.... tak bocor or what so ever? probably 1 week warantty pun sudah cukup to test....
