e46 ICE advise needed

Good day to all the ICE sifus here..I've just upgraded my ICE for my e46 with Business HU.. Added in a 4 way 1600w amp which powers my components and also my subwoofer in the boot.. The sound was sweet, sharp with good enuff bass...Problem is after enjoying a few days of good music, suddenly the whole system stopped.. Volume was louder but not extremely loud at that time & i listened for about 30 minutes only before the whole system decided to shut down.. Went back to the hi-fi shop & they told me that the amp has auto-locked becos I blasted the system too loud for too long duration.. Is this true? Also they claim that our HU does not have a volume limiter so the volume can be too high.. Anyways, after removing the amp, my HU then decided to stop functioning.. Now, there is a red light blinking but i cant turn it on.. Any suggestions from the sifus?Thanks
