bleeding and replacing the brake fluid is relatively easy, just make sure u go to the shop with the proper tools for the job. DOT4 will be good enough. I am using ATE superblue racing DOT4, cost about RM 60/litre, good stuff :top:
A 7mm wrench is your bleeding tool
An rubber line to plug into bleeding hole with a collection can so your old oil wont' fly around, and you are good to go.
I can't agree if somebody is telling it is wasting money...
Brake fluid absorbs moisture. With our climate here (rain and hot weather), brake fluid quality are more prone to be degraded faster due to moisture absorption. Changing them as frequent can save you a lot - actually can save your life!
Just remember, best braking capability can save you from fatal injury during accident. Nothing wrong to change the brake fluid as preventive maintenance la bro...
I agree with turbology here ... 12 month or 15,000km is more than good enuff to maintain your braking fluids far more importantly is to change your rubber brake hose to a braided steel brake linen which helps to have a firmer feel and will reduce the chance of moisture absorption due to the fact that the braided PTFE lines are more stronger and resilent to pressure and heat (ProRS braided brake line have been tested to withstand 3,000 psi of pressure)
