E46 BMW 325i or W203 Merc C230K

DEcision finally.

Skip the current W203 for this year and wait for as much design and technical details and information on the new W204 as the trial and proofing progresses. Hope whatever good features in the W203 will be much better in the new model.

If not, look again at next year E90 BMW. If the interior is improved and features like Nav, better tyres etc are incorporated, price ratio relative to Mercs comparible to other countries, then reconsider the move away from BMW.

Gosh, my views would mirror E46F's. I think the C is better value for money esp with the avantgarde specs. It feels much more solid and I think the C230K's interior is a lot more classy than the E46 which is looking dated. The E90's interior looks pretty bland. In terms of performance, the C230K is no potato. It can breathe down an E46 325i easily. BUT... I think the E46's brakes are better too and on the twisty bits, there's this thing about E46s which makes it top the class and I'm glad the E90 does it even better. Perhaps, the new C next year can do a better ketchup game with BMW in this area?... I rather wait and find out. If I were to choose on the noose, I would put my money down on the %$$*@%@$$@$#!#...

By then, the E90 could be due for a facelift in Europe within the year, heh! There's the all new A4 that may be worth some consideration. It's gonna get exciting in late 2007!!

Ditto the two thoughts from JPB and E46F too. I have both of them now. The E46 325i has too much issues at this age now. The MB 230K still runs perfectly. The Kompressor is just so amazing. If you want one now, get the C. If you can wait, check out the two stablemates in about 6 months time. The Audi is pretty but its still a FWD at the end of the day. Driver satisfaction lacks.

Yeah, I admit the OOOO lacks the dynamic capabilities of the roundel and three-pointed-star (in the right specs). But, the quattros are not phenomenally more expensive than FWDs and presents a viable option? I think that the clash of the imminent newer generation models are gonna be closer, it's been getting there with BMW slowly losing the edge it used to have. So, no harm waaaaiting...

But I heard from the CAM boys that the Quattro is a full 70k more expensive than the FWD.. I'm a part time guest member at the CAM events.

Anyway, I went for a trip with a few of them to the West Port for a tour last week. Saw a lot of GTR, Subarus, Merc and RapidKL buses at the yard.

The A6 is nice..

Maybe I'll get the old Rally edition Martini Audi Quattro...
