Hi guys,I am thinking about to take my e46 318i back to malaysia by next month. However, i just heard from my friend that it is very rare to find such model in manual transmission back home. Is this true?Is it going to be a lot of problem for me to maintain the car in malaysia, or probably to resell it in future. Thanks.

There's hardly any E46 manual here except for the M3... As for maintenance, don't think it's difficult to maintain since the manual box would rarely give you problems. As for resale value, there are ppl who look for manual version.

BTW, your 318i is the 1.9 version or the 2.0 valvetronic???

if you want to bring back , better bring back a car with a higher cc ...maybe a 328 with a manual box ...

318 is a little underpower and you may plan for upgrade later on ....

hi farispdy,

Which country would you be taking the car back from? And whats the year make of the car? Thank you.

Just bring it home, its a rare to find E46 N42 with manual transmission. My friend even brought hoem fom UK E60 520i manual....no problem maintaining it and I first tot he was joking when he mentioned manual gbox E60 520i

After have a think about it, I suddenly change my mind. I've made decision to bring my 'manual' car back home. Lovely driving and also the easiest option for me instead of selling it and look for another new car..

great.
Please do inform us (especially me) if you decide to sell it later in Malaysia :D
