e39 New Owner

Hello everyone,

been using e30 320 for few years as a daily ride. Enjoyed it alot & some how kena the racun and got myself an e39 525 last week
First thing did the basics changed engine oil & filter, inspected all hoses & belts (changed one belt), inspected suspension system, battery condition, brake system, radiator/coolant system, changed sparkplugs . Today just changed all 4 tyres (spare still ok) Hankook Ventus 225/55R16

Some things still on checklist:
1. Undercarriage cover (anybody know where to get?)
2. Reverse sensor, where to get it checked out?
3. Wiring for washer motor. Any good "wireman" in PJ area?
4. Headlight somehow not as bright as my e30 (or could be my imagination)
5. Instrument Panel MID pixel display problem. Read somewhere before, someone here does repairs?

Still not used parking in my condo basement, it is a much longer car. Looking forward to the highway drive this weekend

Congratulations monster..

Undercarriage cover can get it new from BA. Instrument panel pixel can contact bro haywire as he did mine. Headlight is common e39 problem.. search this forum.. u might find the answers.

thanks antiquer, this afternoon i passed by BA and the place looks like cleared out, maybe someone just cameby bought up everything.... are there other BA branches? the one & only one i know is in Penchala area near Mofaz

BA is Bavarian Auto, supplier of BMW and Mini parts. Theres one in Segambut amd one in SS2...and few other locations in Klang Valley.

Congrats and enjoy the refinement of E39.

I got my undercarriage cover from Munich at Jalan Ipoh / Segambut. Taiwan made. Probably cheaper than what you get at BA. Look for Mr Siew.

Reverse sensor. If you're on the original surround sensor (8 pieces altogether), any diagnostic tool should pinpoint which is the faulty one.

Headlights. Need regular polishing. My mechanic told me to do it once a month. Still, it doesn't shine far enough.

This morning met up with Haywire. Did repairs to pixel display on MID unit.
Very meticulous work, am very satisfied. Very knowledgeable person, I learned alot today. Much more to learn on e39 compared to my e30.
Highly recommended, wont think twice to recommend anyone to Haywire <thumbs up>
