E36 Aircond system

Hi membersPlease recommend a good place to check for air cond system for my E36 328i car. My car aircond is blowing at full speed but it does not cool well. Temp set at 22 degrees Celcius but those sitting behind hardly feel the air! Appreciate if anyone can recommend a good mechanic in Klang Valley who specialise in air cond system? I have been sending my car for servicing in a BM workshop in Segambut area but not impressed with its services. Thanks in advance.

Naidus. His place is behind Shell of Jalan Gasing. Right after KWSP (when you exit Fed Highway), turn left (before Shell) and the right. Behind Shell, you'll see a workshop. That's Naidus.

Bro, we're not mechanics. So we can't give you quotes. Best if you just head over to Naidu and let him check it out. His charges are very reasonable and he knows his stuff.

My aircon prob. I put gas aircon but for 5 or 6 day it gone.... My compressor ok, this cooling coil 'bocor' or any other valve. Please advise and help. thks

hallo hai, pls check high pressure hose near your kompressor. if your cooling coil bocor, you kena bukak dashbod.. better if you go see our rekomended aircon repair man mr.naidu. see previous posts in this thread for his location.

bro.. if you suspect the cooling coil is leaking, ask the air con guy to do a vaccum test prior to filling.

If cannot pass vacuum test, be prepare to pay for the replacement coil.

If the fan is full speed and behind cannot feel the air, then your micro filter is choked.

It located just beside the steering column near the leg rest pedal.

Change it or get it clean.

is it normal when i switch on the aircond, the air does not come out until there is a "ttakk" sound from inside my dashboard? the air comes out around 5 seconds lag after the aircon button is switched on... do advise k, newbie here

maybe can n try DIY change the micro filter... dono will it help the blower power or not...

i thinking is some clever design from the bmw engineer..

The ttakk sound is the vane opening to the blower. The vane is either diverted to external or recirculation mode.

When you off the engine, you would sometime hear the sound of the vane closing.

Try to select between recirculation and external mode. See whether the sound is the same when the vane is closing or opening.

As long as air is coming out from the louvers, it OK. If the air flow is low when in re-circulation mode, it means that the microfilter is choked.

No lah, you microfilter is completely choked. When you drive the car, outside air is diverted into the aircon. That why you feel the air. As for recirc mode, the choke filter will prevent air flow.

when the car is stationary, i also got wind
just that when first open the air cond.. it needs to wait than only got wind






too bad is all the button is not working at my air cond
the "AC" button not working (although can see the lights on and off, but the compressor is running all the time)
the "circulation/vent" button not working (althought got lights on and off, but theres nothing happening)
the 2 knob for temperature also not working (no matter i turn to cold most, or warm air mode, the air cond always cold)

it could be affected by the bug/Vampire?,
i will investigate the FRAGILE e36 A/C system.
i going to find-out why it was soo fragile,
i will update it and share to public if i found something out of NORMAL/actual BMW spec..
