E36 328i Fuel Consumption.

Just wanted to know what the rest of the e36 328's here are doing in terms of fuel consumption. Mine's a 96 auto and i am doing 400kms on a full tank before my reserve light comes on. Thats normally around 55-56 liters. Usually just drive between Ampang and Taman Tun.

i do about 400km before the light comes on, and then obc says i have about 90km to go... on the highway, i get about 650km for a full tank.

Anybody else can chime in? i would like at least 10 cars for a comparison.

full tank , town ride. 420km.

Full tank PLUS highway crusin at 110 to 140kmh...650km. That was running on GM slushbox.
Full tank on trunk road manual tranny, rear diff 3.15(Flat roads) playing with a Golf Gti...it's more then 650km.Ended up with 2 speeding tickets...

Mine's a CKD 97/98 328i - approx. 400 km in pure city driving, mostly stop-go traffic. Goes to about 430-450 km if I can squeeze in a couple of runs on the highway. Long distance highway runs result in 580-650 km depending on the cruising speed.

I get something like 400-420km when the lights comes on. I have tried once recently running until really low ( cause i filled up RM120.00 ) ,even can hear squicking sound of the fuel pump. Lucky no damage to the pump and the sound disappear just after fill up. My car has no modification except for the K&N drop in filter. but my tyres are 225(F) and 245(R).
anyone thinks removing the old "cat" will help?

Sorry I have never waited till the light comes on to pump petrol..but here are some figures which i kept for my own reference:

Highway cruising at 110-130kmh:
ltr/100km=9.864705882or
km/Ltr=10.13714967

city drive:
ltr/100km=11.53751538
or
km/Ltr=8.667377399

A full tank on an E36 is 65L. When your reseve light lights up you should have about 5-8L remaining.

standard car with 17", running 225/45/17 rubber, BFGoodrich G-Force Sport.
BHP semi synth engine oil.

around 400-450km, town driving.
and 600-650km for highway and a bit of town. If the car runs purely on highway and nothing else, i'm quite certain i can get more range from the car, maybe even 700km could be possible.

driving style, speeds on highway from 110 - 140km/h
in town, unfortunately, i love to accelerate hard..

Average fuel consumption I am getting
400-420 km for a full tank of 55-58 ltr
7.9 km per litre according to the OBC

420-450km depending on how heavy or light footed you are. Anything beyong 450km is really good..imagine cruising in the slow lane at 80km and being overtaken by bloody kancils....tailgating you...

Mine does averagely 10.5L/100km on the OBC.
With the Hard top, 10.8L/100km.
Commute KL city centre to Shah Alam.

Yah, mine also running between 400 to 450.

Highway will be almost the same coz alway in high speed.

Mine is a 328i E36 1997 CKD. For a 3/4 tank, I could go to JB from KL at an average speed of about 125km/h. Not sure about full tank.

mine, latest monitoring is rm0.23 / km,

theoritically,
if full tank is 58L (minus 6L reserved)......52xRM1.92 = RM99.84

so, can go for RM99.84 / 0.23 = ~ 434km
