E36 328: Gearbox? suspension? Engine?

hello sifus I want to buy a nice bm E36 328 but it isn't nice at all.... after 2monthi found my target car recentlyand make a decision to own it soon (may be next week)but....The problem with the car is:1) Alternator dah 'kong' need 5-10second to respondand I here clicking sound before the alternator fire up. 2) the owner said he just replace the final drive at the back which cost him 7K. 3) when i test drive it, i heard tap-tap sound (continuous taping sound: many people said it was absorber/boost or something about suspension. but I worried about the final drive. ___________________________________________other spec:e36 328 1997 AC body kit 19" AC s/rim silver acc free good aircond plenty of torque quiet engine little bit noise at backbox exhaust 192K millage how much for one new alternator or 2dhandrecently i ask mech at subang they said around RM340.00 rear absorber RM500.00 pls need advise/opinion. should i buy this car? Am glad you did not buy it last Fri. What you're doing is correct. Shop around and ask around for advice. You already have mine...

My opinion...don't buy. Don't buy any car until you find a good ones or almost good ones. As long as you have the money...the choice is yours.Once you spend it... no more choices and have to live with whatever car you bought. Take your time.

I think at Naidu workshop also got one E36 328 selling for 35K only.

The car look tempting.. I know. Sad as most of the done up car with bodykit and nice big rims are always not up to our expectation in engine or ride condition.

If the previous owner trying to save RM350 for the alternator.. means the owner have high chance of not maintaining the car well.

before i buy my udm i found one 99 e36 pearl white, m3 bodykit 17" sport rim engine condition not much known but has some crackling sound.. the interior is out, the seats are totally sux and the owner let it go for 68k, i continue to find my ride and finally i got a tip top condition with good interior at 64k

dude never rush to buy a ride....especially the UDM.....if ever you have doubts on the ride, don't buy....your better judgement is warning you...
As I've mentioned before get one from one of the bros on the forum...most of us are fanatics and our rides are as well taken care off as with our wives....although the latter will deny this....heheheh
