e34 fuel consumption help!!!!

my m20 2.0l AUTO tranny engine sucks. its got no power, AND BAD FUEL CONSUMPTION i getting like 500km to the full tanki love the looks and the comfort. what could be wrong? what should i do?if getting so bad fuel consumption might as well change engine. i wanna keep the bmw heritage so lets start with bmw suggestions first guys. rb26 all this next time lah when i got tons of cash to buy a e34 to play. this is my only daily ride so please guys help out.

Why not consider change your O2 sensor plus change your fuel rail... worse case .. go NGV

500km to a full tank? Is that city or outstation driving? If city driving, that is quite good. I used to get around 400km to a full tank on my ex-M50B20 E34 for mix city/outstation driving. Full city driving a very bad 350km. Full outstation driving at constant 110kmh can do way way better... around 600+ km.

try 3.5 manual ..

I used to get 22-24 mpg town . Long distance eg - high speed run to CHerating - cheaper than e34 525 by about Rm10-15 ..

Can't say the same if you are running Auto though.

depends on where you are driving the most... if more stop and go traffic, of course smaller cc better. But if more often outstation and flat out driving, than the larger cc is better (to a limit of course)... well, see 535i's post above.... and yeah, for outstation driving, the 2.5L M50 is more economical that the 2.0L M50.... tested before.

500? thats awesome on an auto. I'm only pulling about 450 on a m20b20 manual. Anyways, according to the manual book, the m20b20 supposedly drinks more then the m20b25. That is how rediculously torqueless the 2.0L engine is.

BMW claims 13.8L/100km combined city/highway for the m20b20 manual. If i get 15L/100km, i am pretty satisfied because it almost impossible to do that BMW's figures especially given KL's notorious traffic.

500KM for full tank of 60 liters? that is pretty good for a M20 2.0 dragging the E34 body.. you should be thankful....
What is the mileage you think it should be? Compare to?

That is pretty normal bro. I've owned M50B20 Vanos auto for more than 3 yrs. Sometimes it's like my friend's Perdana ( or even better ).

BTW another friend of mine drives a Mercedes....and he really hates to see your avatar...... hehehe.

my tank 80l at least that's wat the gauge shows. 1l = 6+ km of travel.

That is pretty normal bro. I've owned M50B20 Vanos auto for more than 3 yrs. Sometimes it's like my friend's Perdana ( or even better ).

i think your car got BUGed, mine was M52, 2.8L fuel economy better then yourss, i even win againt the perdana, superBIKE, BIKE, deer, nuclear, sun flower....

cannot fly ge!!! and RM100 only can go for less than 250km street driving(fuel time was the higher price issit RM2.50/per litter)

yupe automatik 1j... fuel had drop but i been long long time nvr touch her already, she is in workshop upgrading audio system for 2month arghhhhhh....... should back in action next week
