Hi Guys,Am curious if anyone here with an e34 has replaced their lambda sensor before. one mech claims it will improve fuel consumption greatly and also enhance throttle response and acceleration. My current consumption (for mix of 40% town and 60% hw) is around 430-450km for 100 bucks. Seems pretty bad for a m50b25 auto with 17". seldom go above 3k, except for that once or twice a week blast on s-mode.the quote i got was RM900

Yea, the price sounds about right and will definitely improve your fuel consumption.

The lambda sensor or O2 sensor either works or it don't work.

i don't this sensor would loose it "performance" or sensing of the oxygen level
as it ages but it has a life span whether you use it or not. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I think the sensor function or condition can be detected via the modic.

This is the first time that I have heard about claim that the performance can be improved by changing the O2 sensor.

however, if your O2 sensor is faulty, then the engine ignition firing would not be
at its optimum and caused the lost of engin's power and performance.

fandango,

That fuel comsumption of yours is good! Sounds right to me. Me also getting that mileage with my m50TUB25
