E30 gearbox free play

Hi, i noticed that when i engaged to neutral in my manual gearbox, there's a lot of movement...is it normal and if it's a problem, any solution?

check ur gear lever bushes dude... also the one on the lever plate tht connects to the gearbox..

Depends which gearbox, M40 gearbox doesn't have the plate like in the M20...

hi, since you guys are discussing about gearbox. hope i'm not interrupting, but yesterday when i drove my e30, the dogleg gearbox just died on me. i cant engage my gears. not any gear. i thought its the clutch problem. BUT my mech dismantled it and said my gearbox has jammed. and the gearbox is hard to find. enlighten me, isnt there a way to service the gearbox?or that i have to change the whole thing? how much will it normally cost?

I think i heard from someone there's 1 old Sifu in Klang who knows how to repair manual gearbox... Anyone here knows where to look for this sifu?
