Duplicate Car Key

I lost my 2nd key and planning to make a new one. The original alarm is no longer working, so I just need the key. I've asked a shop in Subang Jaya and they quoted me RM200. Is this reasonable?

I was quoted 100 ++plus lah .. cant remember exact figure when I wanted to make key for wallet.. I have to go make one AGAIN... it is in pandan indah.. after I make one, i ll update u lah... all sort of keys they can duplicate even bentleys,RR, ferrari etc..

u need to mentioned either ur car come with EWS or not ........

if with EWS , then u need ask the specialist to duplicate the key with the EWS chip....Just the key will not start ur car .....

If without EWS ....i duplicate my E34 key 4 years back @ rm40 at PJ near the Jaya .....

Ya Jaya is no longer exist. U know where the shop relocated?

its not inside the Jaya ....Just a shop area nearby .........

anyway ...really dont know either they still there or not .....But i ask a lot of key duplicator b4 ...the most is RM60 per key without EWS and alarm ......

If 200 just the key ...totaly too much .........

Wah, then one quote in one of the key/shoe shop i got in Tropicana PJ (new shopping mall next to dsara intan) is rm800. And this one is excluding the chip and alarm !!

I think there is one key shop near the market / stall area building. The entrance is in-between laundry shop and bakery shop, just go straight in the passageway. May god willing, this building will not collapse.. !

Try Tesco Puchong . There is a key maker in there . I did a spare for my E38 without the ems clip RM 50.00 only . Pls not without the ems chip , u can only unlock door and boot lock only , The key Cannot be use to start the car

You can do it most key shop for RM50 without the EWS chip (like E34), if yours are those older version like E30/E28, then it is RM10 in any key shop. If you are looking for those with EWS, Sapura/Auto Bavarian typically charge between RM800-1000, that you must bring along your JPJ card to prove your ownership. While the shop in Tropicana city will be much cheaper, I can't remember it must be like RM600 (with remote control Diamond shape), it is probably RM400 for without the remote control, but with chip inside allow to start. So, if he quoted you RM800 without chip that must be a misunderstanding.

At last, I found a shop in Taipan, Subang Jaya ... charging RM45 for key without chip. Lucky I never do it in Subang Parade.
