Hi guys,OCT 2004 - First complaint to AB about my Airbag Warning Light came ON. After RM44 worth inspection, they diagnose that the Driver Seat Belt Tensioner was faulty & blamed that things/stuffs might have gone under the driver seat and hit the module underneath the driver seat.AB said no repair needed & they just reset the Airbag warning Light.NOV 2004 - Warning light came ON again after some time. Another RM44 charged for diagnosing it. This time repair done costing RM287 ( this included Replacing Cable For Seat Belt Tensioner; repair kit; Connector; hose; cable strap ).SEP 2005 - sent for service at AB. Within a week, again the Airbag Warning Light came ON. Diagnose this time was FOC but AB recommended a total chnage of Driver Seat Belt Tensioner. Part cost = RM629 ( Part#72118257790).Appreciate if any of you guys can shed some light on this "Driver Seat Belt Tensioner".TQ.

Same happen to me last week, sent for non-AB (bought it from importer) check and repaired , actually they just reset the "error message" on my first visit to the workshop then after two days, airbag light went on again. This time they diagnossed properly and confirmed the selt belt tensioner sensor. Repaired and airbag light ok ..well at least until today , come to three days now. But if still problem then will get it replaced, and will claim it from the dealer as they said under their warranty if within "3 mths".

I think I take this part no. Part cost = RM629 ( Part#72118257790) to refer to them if in case it is still faulty. Thanks for the details.

Yeah, I had the same problem and I bought mine froman importer as well, still under warranty. Will get it reset soon and see if it resolved the problem.

How much do you guys pay for it? How long does the importer give for warranty?

Thanks.

Moral of the story is dont move the driver seat... heh. Seriously tho this problem is more prevalent when there multiple drivers to the car and the seats get adjusted frequently (or from car wash fellas vacuming the car).... Can't believe BMWs have this problem!!
