To answer others, I don't think I should publish the workshop name. Basically I have been a regular customer there and I trusted them , although I know they always charge 10-15% higher on their parts.

Besides, I 'm not sure it's not a new part. Like i said it's just another specialist's opinion.

I took my car to bmw specialist A, they changed my alternator charged me more than 1.5K for the new one. I brought my car to specialist B, who take one look and tell me that it is re-conditioned one.

I feel cheated by specialist A. Actually need forummers advice, what can I do in this situation? If I bring it back to Specialist A , for sure they will dispute what B says.

The title of this forum is "BMW Talk". So just sharing some experience with everyone.

Crusher... u meant u've trusted them for so long and now suddenly just realized being cheated? Time to change to other garage then man... It seems to me when we've been with somebody for too long, they tend to take us for granted.

Thing about alternators is.... they have a significant trade-in value. If you traded-in yours to be refurbished, you'll def get cheaper discount.

So get yours back from the workshop because you DIDN'T AGREE TO GIVE the old one to them. Couple of hundred bucks back for you there.

north side i had my wiring so called completely changed and rewired for my e34 charged me $2100 while on the phone told me it would cost me within $1000 was very pissed but life has to go on and he is supposed to be the best in the north and knows shit about mods etc

Northern side i would strongly reccomend this guy kim from mcalister road jalan selangor or Ah guan sungai pinang both of them used 2 work together.
