Castrol GTX - Special

Need SIFU advice...I found CASTROL GTX 15-40 Mineral Oil for only RM32 at one of the reputable megamall ... Do they sell FAKE STUFF?No many left.. about 20 bottles.. quick..get itDo you think it is good for our car E36 / E30 or E46 to use mineral oil?? We change more often la so engine will have new oil all the time.Want to maintain the new oil feeling all the time.Your advice please..Pic of oil attached

That's normal for mineral oil...you may even get it cheaper at spare part shops..

I think it is ok to use for the older cars but not E46 onwards and even late E36's. I used Castrol GTX for my E34 1994 previously and changed every 5000km after overhauling engine. Kept the car for 2 years and never had any problems Performance was ok too.....remember paying less than RM30 for 4 litres though...Using Magnatec now for my E46....somehow wouldn't even consider mineral oil now for my ride......

Castrol GTX is a good mineral oil.

Should be ori from Tesco/Carrefour.

I use Castrol Magnatec and buy it from spare part shop which is authorised dealer. Always get gifts as advertised.

Based on my experience on buying a car which had poor oil changes, I would strongly recommend changing engine oil every 5000km.

is better to use 10/40 semi syntetic oil,don't think old school car no need to take care.castrol magnatic is good but now i am using toyota oil 10/40 and it made by penzoil coz i can get stuff price.i change every 5000km and trust me there is a diffrent between mineral oil and semi syn oil,it more power and lighter.

Less then Rm30 for 4 liters?? Where you get them?? How much for Megnatec now?? If you can get for RM50 it is a good price.. Do share with us where to find them.

Anyone know how much the E36 and E46 Oil filter cost???

I found a general workshop at Sri Petaling to change my oil filter and oil for RM10 labour.. Should I go there for the normal regular oil change? Please share how much you paid for oil change and oil filter change labour.

10 dollars for oil filter change is cheap.

Oil FIlter for M40 can cost you about 20 plus.

Can't get magnatec at RM50 anymore. Not sure abt GTX. Best price I've come across lately is RM70 for magnatec in state. Bought Bosch oil filter for my E46 at RM28 this weekend also from state....changed oil myself but labor for oil service and other minor checks cost around RM30 at my workshop....dude I wouldn't trust a general workshop not specialising in bimmers to touch my ride even for something simple as an oil change.....

Go to the workshop at Sri Petaling. I seen many E34/39 was serviced there also. So RM10 for 6 potters service is cheap la.
