Oi this thread no more updates? Ride is due for oil change another 5k km. Scouting for offers now. Anyone seen any promotion done by Tesco? Wondering if they still have EU-spec Shell Helix Ultra 4L pack at RM99 each?

Hehehe ... Currently no promotion price from Tesco. I think the auto parts people make noise to castrol and shell. Price for Castrol Edge 10w60 is RM180 and can get at the parts shop in seafield. Will get the best price for 5w40 and 0w40 and update here.

Just bought Mobil 1 0W40 for RM199 at Tesco, LL01 spec suitable for Vanos Engine(E60)..try to find LL04 spec but hard to find..also available Mobil 1 5W50 at RM139, but probably not suitable for vanos motor...

I believe Castrol or Shell has no control over pricing at Hypermarkets as these products has to be "parallel" imports. And i also doubt tesco or c4 gives a rats ass on autoparts or distributor complains. Up n down pricing in hypermarket shelves really depends on stocks availabilty from 3rd party suppliers..... And the most important deciding factor in pricing for parallel imports will be "custom clearence" ... Duty,Tax related ....

Still saw the ongoing promo of Castrol Edge Sport 0w-40 at Tesco Puchong as of yesterday. Price $139/btl. However saw from the bottle year of manufacture was in 2010, 3 years stocks don't know any negative effect in lubricating performance

most shelf life quoted 5 years, factory seal shouldn't be issue, probably longer
