Hi. I've booked a ride from a used car dealer (not Beemer's), so would like to know what should I look out for regarding the ride itself? I've driven a f30 320d once for 4 months or so and the engine 'rattling' sound is kinda comparable. Gosh...is that ok?

Specifically, do I need to write to BMW informing the change of ownership prior to sending in for upcoming service?

Many thanks in advance.

The F30 petrol engine rattles quite a bit especially right after a cold start. The rattling should quite down when the engine is properly warmed up. But the turbo charged engine is still noisy in comparison with the old 6 cylinder NA engine.

There's no need to write to BMW. The BSRI and warranty go with the car and not the owner name. Just bring along a photocopy of your car registration card with your name as the new owner when you send your car in to the service centre will do.

For service, just bring a copy of your JPJ card and show them your IC and the BMW dealer will process it.

Just curious, why not look at the BMW Premium Selection rather than getting it from the used car dealer?

Thanks splee.

Mavik, I was kinda "lovestrucked". Hehehe. The pic says it all

Ah ic, so the previous owner has already swapped to an M-Sport kit as well as the M Performance parts.

Red F30's are known to be very fast
Surely, you jest haha.

Nice chili padi that car, the previous owner even swapped for the 328i Sport rims...exactly what I wanted to do with my ride. Now I can see what it looks like haha...all it needs its an engine remap or that easy race chip to boost it.

Speed is a by product of the mind. So one can be fast especially when you don't compare with others :p
