Since it is a CKD, you can get the seller/owner linked you to the online system (whitecard member) where u can view the car service history, parts changed etc. In addition, ask him where he sent his car for service - bavaria/ ingress/ sapura. U can start from there to dig the history, offcourse with the help of the seller coz u can;t get access to records of other people's car from these service centres

ok, thanks. will do.

I brought the car to WQW Mechanical USJ1 this morning for check up as recommended by a friend of mine.

The mechanic thre, Mr. Wong said, the car's good. however, he commented on 3 items, he said better to be changed.

1. front absorber ( leakage )
2. Brake pad and disc brake
3. mounting (not the engine mounting, im not sure what it is called)

Can anyone tell me estimatation of how much it cost to replace the parts?

thanks

I believe although the warranty has passed, it still qualifies for BRSI (3 yrs). Meaning item 2 is covered by BMW. Since its a Dec 06 car, you can try for goodwill warranty for items 1 and 3 as the warranty just finished. Whats the mileage on the car you are looking at?

... and the BRSI is actually 3 years or 60k km which ever comes first, and it only covers limited wear and tear parts and consumable like engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs, wiper blade, labor, brake linings and brake disc rotor.. did I miss any other?

Absorber and mounting goes under warranty coverage which is only 2 years. Steering lock failure, central locking failure I am sure is warranty items and if they fail after 24 months, cry loo.. :(

thanks for all the info,

FYI, the car clocked 59800km already. I think it will reach 60k by the time the owner hand over the key to me. :(

Go for public bank, the BLR is 6.25 now. I got my 2004 325i at 3.45% for 9 years. The bank have approve and i just got my car last 2 day.:listen: (if it is a direct case)

I would strongly recommend you to send the car back to the authorised dealer to get a goodwill warranty on these items since the car has just merely passed the two years warranty period. You will stand a 70% chance of getting it. BTW, I'm surprise that the car is having problem with its absorber and mounting as compared to mine which is CKD August 2006 with a mileage of 55,000 kms without this problem.
