My BSRI is expiring this month, and i was thinking if its necessary to get all the covered parts replaced by the dealer since my car only clocked 13k km. I thought about getting rotors & pads replaced, but worried the famous 'AB nightmare' of causing several other 'NEW' problems to my car! What's your thoughts? perhaps i will just change some minor parts eg. Microfilter, air filter, spark plugs...etc? having said that, these small items doesnt cost much anyway if were to replace at own cost in future. Does anybody knows what spark plug AB uses on E90s? Thank you for reading, appreciate your input.:top:

bro the BSRI fine print does states that it is based on the cars CBS (condition based service)...so in this case if the car sensor does not flagged the CBS that its need service/replacement, AB will not replace the parts...

I'll be going for my car first service 25k (although my car mileage is at 29k+) tomorrow. is there any check list or things to look out for?? or just leave it to the hands of the mechanics at IA?

wah rachel ur car never do oil service before ka? better check for sludge if u use your car mostly for short drive from home to work...first sign is on the engine oil cap...

got la..at 10k km, i send my car to IA. then i top up engine oil before too , on my own...
i think this one consider Major service right..

how come ur first service at 25,000km? mine was at 10,000km (but it only trigger me when it was 12,000km),
I agree with t2ribena, u better check for sludge as i was told before by my s.a at Sapura, car tat do its first service at 25,000km tends to have sludge, tat is why they change it to 10,000km.

Rachel, if you sent your car to IA at 10k, then that was the 1st service and this is the 2nd. ;)

There's nothing for you to specify under BSRI unless there's a problem you need fixed. Just give them the key-fob that you've been using (to download the data recorded in the chip) and ask them to send you home. :)

Ok ok.. considered second service...
I thought it will be major service...which will take a day. but the guy told me half day th car will be ready.
anyway will see..

thanks all..

I thought the next service is 25k km after the 10k km 1st service, meaning at 35k km mileage??

BSRI is condition-based as determined by your OBC. Meaning it depends on the condition of your car and your driving habits. Rachel is a girl-racer type (avoid SA/SJ after dusk) so her service indicator pops up earlier lor :D In my case, I'm at 17k, and at the moment the OBC says my next service is in 13k, so it'll be around 30k.

BTW Rachel, I think the major check service is around 50k and brake check service is around 60k. It all depends on how you drive. Eg, if you do F1 carbon dust braking all the time, then your brake check would be earlier. ;)

chan, the indicator "Service" started to appear (everytime i start the car) around 28k mileage. n yes, i did my first check around 11k+ + 25 supposed to be 35k... my mileage now is 29888

after d cameron highlands trip, i didnt feel safe driving cos i think alignment lari cos when driving on straight-road, the car slides to the side...

anyway i got free polish done..not sure if this is part of the package... cos i did mention to the service guy today "how come bmw paint so low quality..and show him the patch of glue on the bonnet" :D
