Congratulations to all elected Managing Committees for 2012 to 2014.
Hope that we all will have an enjoyable years ahead with Sheer Driving Pleasure.

My undivided support from down south...congrats everyone...:top::top:

Congrats to the new president and the new vice president, and the hard working secretary and the tireless treasurer, and not forgetting the busy bus committee members!

Congratulations to the new office bearers. May the club progress forward and prosper!

My heartiest congratulations to our new club President, V President, Sect, Treasurer and the CMs.

May the club move to greater heights and will mark another milestone in the pursuit of becoming a relevant and a dynamic motoring community in Malaysia.

I wish to take the opportunity to raise a point or two for the new management to look into or to focus on in order for the Club to prosper and expand. Firstly, the club official memberships. If one were to take a look at the stats, we have about 20k odd registered forumers (and continuing) and 2k plus active ones but a mere 151 OMs.

As we are an official BMW club in the country, it is my opinion that we should make ourselves present and become relevant. Or if I may use a stronger wording - a force to be reckon with in respect of a motoring club. Over the last few years, BMW cars has surpassed remarkable number of ownerships and many could testify to this fact. We could capitalise this and every new owner should be a club member by default. As to how and what kind of benefits for the OMs I think this can be deliberated if we can put our minds to it.

Secondly, making the Club well-known (point is indirectly linked to the first suggestion above). I wish to see our club logo is on the signboard of some "approved" workshops, a dedicated page in a car magazine for the club focussing on our cars, drives, repairs and so on.

Once again, congratulations to the new management team and I hope we will paint the town blue (and white) in the very new future....

May I also put in another humble suggestion please?

With the advent of the internet, there will bound to be many page visits by Malaysians based overseas, and even ASEAN neighbours (like me, from Singapore). I've been very keen to join the club officially, but most of the benefits would be lost - and the cost would be somewhat steep if I joined as a 'normal' Official Member, do you think BMWCM would consider an affiliate program/membership for overseas interested parties? It'll obviously be cheaper to join as an affiliate member - and, to qualify, maybe the person would have to be physically in a different country or a foreign nationality or whatever (so as not to take advantage of the cheaper rates).

You can ask DocRayBoy about this - as most Physician or Surgeon Colleges (e.g. RCP(Edin), RCP(London) or RCP&S(Glasg) would have "Full" Fellow rates for Specialists residing in England/Scotland, but a reduced rate for Specialists in Overseas Faculty. He would be in a better position to explain the details, but I thought it would be applicable to BMWCM as well :)

I mean, I'd love to get the stickers, T-shirts whatever, but I'd probably not be able to join in the physical activities/drives as often as I'd like - and affiliate members wouldn't have voting rights, but would still feel a 'closer' part of the 'family'?

I guess the details could be worked out - but it's just a humble suggestion from me.

For your kind consideration, please :)

A big congrats to the very familiar new lineup, you have my utmost gratitude & support. Also, a big thank you to the outgoing guys for a great job, best of luck:top:

Beemerback & Wobbles,

Thanks for putting forward some of your thoughts and suggestions which I personally think are excellent. Rest assured that the CM will deliberate all these suggestions and revert to all soonest.

Bro wobbles and beemerback, :top::top::top: ..... we could have voted this in during our just concluded AGM if the proposal was noted earlier .... however all is not lost as we shall table this in our next meeting for the MC endorsement after which we will seek the approval from relevant "parties" ...

Two great capital ideas bro, keep it coming :top:.

Congrates to the new office bearers. i'm sure u guys will make it better! :)

I think there are provisions within the Club's Constitution to allow Associate Members, if you have a legal address in Malaysia :)

Cheers

That'll be handy - for Malaysian overseas with family ties. What about overseas (non-Malaysians)? I suppose I could always go get my sister in law's address & join in via this loophole... hahaha
