dear friends,

I have a 2009 BMW e90, lately been seeing a lot of white smoke gushing out of the exhaust pipe. Also, engine oil is used up very quickly, to the point I have to service it once every 2 months. This is insane and burning a hole in my pocket. To add to this, several workshops have told me I need to do an engine overhaul that can easily cost up to RM10K +. Anyone have any guidance on this matter please?

Thanks, Mohana

White smoke gushing out from the exhaust pipe is usually a sign of worn piston rings. Lubricant is sipping into the cylinders and burnt together with fuel mixture during combustion stroke hence the white smoke.
