I know this topic was posted in the engine tech section but there is not much response on that thread.

For us, owner of 520d, what does this really mean for us all? Will our warranty and BSRI void for something that we cannot avoid?

I think our 520d value will go down the drain if BMW does not do anything to rectify this.

Any thoughts?

As usual, we cannot do anything all we can do is have a long tread here and hope we can deliver the msg to BMW Malaysia or the goverment? is still a big question mark!
So to me i just hope the goverment can have a choice for the rakyat to choose which diesel to use on our cars.

Although this is a million dollar question... We can't know for sure. Mercedes Benz has confirmed that their engine can go for B10 and this is against other brands.. Personally I think that the government will just bulldoze this decision over soon.. Rather than keep the stockpile of palm oil. The some ministers will say "if you are not happy, just buy petrol powered car lo"
And more importantly right now the government has more serious issue to handle now *wink wink* I'm not supposed to talk politics here so ciao....

Actually, MB first came out with the same message that B10 messes up their engines...then flipped around to say their official diesel lineup works fine with B10...If i remember correctly, the only official diesel car they have on sale is the E300 BlueTec Hybrid...the latest engine tech.
