Nice pics! I think these cars were in the museum since new, and doesn't require restoration, just regular tune ups.

so many beauties... but if i had to single out just one, then it has to be the 3.0CSL.

the newer ones most likely never left the compound after assembly.. however the older competition models like E9 & E30 M3 could have been actual racers that were fortunate enough to have been restored to their original glory for the world to see.

Most these cars, especially the older ones were restored by BMW Classic. :)

sure... if you have deep enough pockets, and it better be a collectors' item like E9CSL to be worth the money/effort. i'll restore your 1984 E30 for a fraction of what they'll charge (plus airfreight!).

i wish bro.. my bank balances are weeping due to my efforts to bring an E30 back to splendour.

BMW has started to re-manufacture original parts for the E30 due to overwhelming demand. Some restorers have complained OEM parts (especially body parts) lack the required tolerance.

And yes, BMW Classic does charge a lot of money for restoration, but you get what you paid for. I was shown some pictures on the work done for the ///M1 and there is no way any local restorer can achieve that sort of work in terms of detail and quality. For example, the paint job is done at the same paint factory that sprays the new car, yes the cars will be transported to various parts of the factory for restoration! If there is any rust, the body part will be removed and welded with new components.

What you will get is a car that is brand new inside out! If I have a batmobile, it will be worth the consideration. :)

That would be really nice. Maybe they will produce for other models too.
