Of course u cant compare straight 6 wt V8 lar but still ok wt some mods yet reasonable. Try to PM leforte coz I heard he one beast E39 528:top:

Why not ?
I6 is far more better in term of weight, manufacturing cost, vibration, balancing, efficiency, and etc.

I6 or V6 or V8 in same displacement(cc) should perform the same in performance wise. (bore/stroke remain relatively at same ratio)
For the sound... I rather take rotary :D

Contrary to most believe, V-setup (V6 or V8) have more disadvantage in term of performance. You run more cams, heavier, bigger belts, etc.
Heat efficiency is lower. Exhaust "pulse" is less effective because of 3-to-1 setup. More engine oil is use. More complicated balancer. More parts to break... I can keep going

But it save space :)

In this particular case his refer to E39 M5 & I compare wt E39 530. A lot different cc bro.

new M3 4.0L V8 is lighter than the old I6 S54B32

I already PM him last year regarding his supercharged E39.

Effortless power bro ...:top: difference of 500cc may not sound much but trust me it does make a difference ...

my advice,forget the e39 M5..it'll burn a hole in ur pocket deeper than the Mariana Trench.keep ur lovely 525i and tune it up.don't go crazy,i'd say 300bhp would suffice..a nice round figure for the real world that'll keep u happy for a long long time.

supercharging is the answer..have a chat with Leforte.i think he's got some used units that won't be too expensive.if u don't want forced induction,have a look at a 3.2 stroker..270bhp/360Nm,pretty handy too,plus u'll be virtually getting a new engine.might be a little more expensive than supercharging tho.

Yup S/C, stroking or even Turbo definitely can transform your ride but however please be aware once you've added 100hp or more you need to beef up your brakes, suspension setup, subframes (for e46 that is), bushings and even tyre's ... you've have to look at a total package rather than a single component upgrade or add on to transform your ride ...

yup,very very true indeed..the brakes and suspension also needs a commensurate 'up' in peformance.u'll need to take the costs of these items as well when dealing with tuning up a car.my normal practice is to do up the suspension first,have a feel for the car's handling and balance.once u've mastered/understood the car's behaviour,then i'll move on to brake and engine work.

it's a slow and tedious process but that's where all the fun is..

..and yeah,it'll drain ur pocket as well..but power is never and will never be cheap:wink:

so far belum tengok lagi la dia drive aggresively..mamat ni selalu berlembut dengan kete2 dia.alah,kitorang pun bukannya fly Mig-29/Sukhoi,sekadar Boeing je..bila fly tu kena supersmooth,kalau tak tumpah lak teh tarik orang kat belakang.

tapi mana la tahu,ada bakat terpendam...hehe:rolleyes: agak susah nak tgk mamat ni mod kete dia,tapi the fact that dia tanya pasal M5 tu haaa..promising tu.
