Agree with Fabian. And different JPJs inteprete the rules slightly different. And no, this is not about giving duit kopi and trying to settle it. What I mean is to do it legit and ensure your grant is not "chop mati/tak boleh pindah milik" that you can't even transfer the car if you want to sell it etc

This is why some will purposely tow their car to a different states just to get some things done. Chasis sub frame can be changed granted if you fill up one of their forms and get a letter from a certifide engineer, then send for inspection. And of course if your car is much older cars (beyond 15 years), you can even jazz up a reason to justify why you need to do a heart transplant to another make.... and still able to sell and transfer ownership 2 year down the road. Lol... a lot of hassle but definitely doable and wont really break the bank lar...

But then again, plonking a M3 or M5 engine into a standard sedan and driving the real thing will definitely not the same.. but if you just want the power... :)

abg haywire e39 520

My personal xperience

530i is sufficient for long haul daily drivers . Sufficient means breaking the speed limit WHEN required is not an issue at all.
M5 tends to be a bit manja . Maintenance also higher . eg kalau breakdown in some remote area - pasrah ajelah ... :)

BUT - driving M5 ni addicted laaa .. tak pernah puas .. so , heart over head i guess ...

since transplanting the S62B50 requires the chassis sub frame of the 520i to be changed...is this also allowed?

i didnt know about this additional allowance...then my project is doable liau...buy cheap cheap 320i then transfer e90 m3 works into it...all in shud be below 150k and its road legal...cool...compare to buying an e90 m3 which is going for rm320k++...

Is the sub frame bolt on or welded on to the frame?? If bolt on, definitely no issue, if requires welding, then need further inspection.. Not totally ruled out.

I'm only sharing what I know from ppl who have done it the legit way.

terima kasih semua di atas pandangan & idea. Saya sangat menghargainya

my heart says....go for M5 and journal the experiences :D

In a war, a war engineer is the key of success and through radical experiments, the odds of winning a battle is higher :D
