Hey Cobrai Kai, didn't know that was you in the convoy.

Well, bottom line is we have always advocated JOY and SAFETY, and not everyone can handle these turbo cars more so with the traction control (DSC) switched off.

Yup the Z435iS has 340hp, most powerful car in the fleet :)

Cheers

Sad to hear the crashes in this weekend's event. Maybe BMW should program the test drive cars in such a way that there is no way to disable both the dynamic stability control and the dynamic traction controls, maybe put the ECU into some sort of valet parking mode... un-abuseable...

I was in the lower spec Z4 23Sdrive about 2 cars behind the 325i (Performance Edition) when i saw tire smoke then POW! lots of debris in the air. The F10 5er in front of me had front row seats to the action. Then the 2 lorries crashed and went sideways blocking all 3 lanes. I yelled BRAKE! Good thing we just came out of the braking session so my driver stomped on the brakes and ABS did its job.

The other Z4 35Sdrive driver was staff i heard?

Well, I had fun at today's 11:30am session. Was on the brown X1 xdrive20d on the way to the stadium and the white Z4 sdrive23i. :D

What do you think of the turbopetrol 2L diesel engines on the X1 and the 320d, bro? Would you ever consider buying a diesel engine car now?

Power is nothing without control. I've seen too much moron behind BMW wheels.
All car got its limit:stupid:

The diesels were very torquey and it was a joy slamming the pedal to the floor on them. But I somehow find the diesel clatter kinda irritating, even with the doors and windows all closed.

The Z4 however was an entirely different beast. :) The inline six was sooooo smooooth and very revvy! Made my E90 320i felt like a lorry when I got back in my own car :(

2 cars had accidents today...the Z3435is and the 325i...never happened before at other Innovation Drives...so unlucky...it was other members of the public fault I hear, not the fault of the BMW drivers.

I saw the 325i is white color and the bumper already damaged. Unfortunately that is not 320d...

BMW Innovation Days Alor Star, 25 Sep 2010

Here are two full HD videos captured just before the event, on the way to Lee Motors, both showing the X6 35i running away from my E36 (not that I am trying to keep up anyway)... (and sorry, I am a bit blur on the way forums embed youtube videos, but I think the resolution selection will appear on the embedded player)

Apparently soon after i took the right turn at that traffic lights, i took a glance to check out the 335i on my rear view mirror. And that's when i saw the z4 just crashed into the kerb and was moving away from it with its front left tire wobbling in & out. That's when i uttered F***!

Pulled over to the side and made my way to the z4. Shocked to see a part of the alloy rim got chipped off real bad and the connecting rods to the wheel hub gave way.

Chris, remember we took this z4 on the MEX Highway the other day...it's one freakin twitchy bugger with all that monstrous of poooowah! :D....put a young punk like that feller behind the wheel, that's what he ended up with.

Ouch! Sounds like a scene from a Hollywood movie.

Yup....seemed just like that in my rear view mirror. Luckily I was far enough ahead to avoid the action. Great driving from the guy behind him to avoid the other 2 cars being damaged. And it gave Bundy a chance to lecture the rest of us on following too close the rest of the way back :top:

Hehehe....already mentioned that during the safety briefing. The problem is many do not realised no matter how powerful the brakes are, you need distance to stop the car!

That was the most tiring day for me, given the horrendous traffic on NKVE and at the Shah Alam stadium.

Aiyoh, no more Z4 to drive during the Kuching Innovation Day. What a bummer.

Salut
