Hi.This project was started by me and a friend.I was inspired by Jeremy Clarkson where he convert the old porsche engine into a coffee table in one of the top gear episodes.the end result will be like this :

so here we go :1.bought the engine from mr Yap (GT-E34).thank you to his foremen for separating the engine parts.it is an M52B28 i think.

i need help:how to remove all the dirt so the engine shines again? i tried to use sand paper but doesnt work much.cannot remove all the thick carbon layers.what do you all think about this project?this thread will continue later when there is a progress :rolleyes:

U would need to dip the whole thing in the chemical solvent bath to dissolve the stubborn carbon and grime...

it's a B20 engine...

you can go to this shops that do hot-dipping etc.. try a machine shop, mind you it costs a lot...

Inline engine not so on... Prefer a V engine...

what kind of chemical solvent bath do i need? can you please give one example.i really want the engine to shine like its new from the factory.like in the first picture of v8 coffee table
Check with the mechanics... They are the ones using to clean pistons and all for an overhaul job..

v8 engine very hard to find.so i ended up with a straight six engine.tonight more cleaning will be done.
 
i knew somebody had a V8 block lying on the workshop floor some time ago... but i can't recall who..

update with some pictures

tonite the piston was brushed but not completely clean.the engine now karat a little bit.i think i just spray la.

i still need to know what type of chemical to buy to remove all the oil and grease.until now no answer

Lorry engine ? that will be dinner table not coffee table.:coffee:
 
I'm just trying to imagine what can I do with a kapcai engine.......bed side table also cannot la
