BMW E34 engin picture NEED HELPS

Hello to all......Members i need advice about this engine with one is M50B25 and with one is M20b25 engin. attach picture hope somebody could help mefirst picture MODEL E34 1993 525isecond picture MODEL E34 1990 525ithird picture E34 1995 525i this one i know is vanosbut the first and second picture is the same cover is this m50 engin or m20can anybody help me to recognize where to see.thank you

First go and intruduce your self in the newbie thread before asking question. The frist two is M20.

just new in this form. for your information right now i try to find bmw 525i with M50 engin to buy. But so difficult to find one. how about if i chose 520i with vanos engin year 1995. discusing in this form - 520i is under power . hope u can advice me thanks. 520i have many alternative.

1zone, very simple. Just get a 525 year 94-96 single vanos m50. 520 is not an option, since you say under-power. So, get it now.

Make sure you budget rm10k (dependent on the car condition also) for replacing wear & tear parts. You can also get a BM specialist to quote you before getting the car.

macgy my be i will get my bm 525i next week. i already check with the bmw specialist the engin is ok . but the gear gearbox happen to be leaking may be need to be overhaul. the speed mode also problem cannot change to s mode. may be this is bcoz gearbox problem. may be someone can advice me.

hope all be ok after i do overhaul. My favroites tv program OVERHAULIN by Jef Foose.

Bro, when you got the car, if trans prog message pop out, be prepared to.... (my advise) swap recond one. ~RM4000+6mth warranty... less headache!

I thought overhauling the gearbox lesser headache, cos you know new bit-parts replaced. A re-cond unit will be a lottery and probably won't last as long as a newly overhauled GB with new parts.

I guess for me, it'll mean less GB unit disposed to unknown places and unknown reason, who knows finding its way back to yourself, once the recond unit needs to re-claim. It'll also be your contribution for the environment (if its your cup of tea), in recycling.

I can also proudly said that the car is still on its original main component. Not like a GB from 3er finding its way to a 5er, or vice versa. Just my view, can ignore at your discretion.:top:

HI 1zone, mind to share what yr of the E34 u are getting at what price? I am newbie who are looking for one too.

the price is depand on the condition of the car / market price 15k-23k also depand on the year and cc. some time 25-30k

happy searching.

after checking with others shops - they told me that my gearbox is ok the leaking can be solve after replace the gearbox cover. sometime the advise from bmw and transmition specialist not all is true. they just want our money.

i discover in this forum that the "trans mannual " sign will appear . if my gear box is problem or my gearbox cannot opparate any more or jams or difficult to change the gear.
