Hi All,Anyone using Bilstein B12 for their E39? What is the ride like? How low does it make the car.I had Eibach springs with standard shocks but found the front too low. My 530i has a M5 kit and with the eibachs they would scrape speed humps or rampsI went to the Bilstein agent in Damansara uptown, and was told that the lowering is about 30mm which I think is similar to the eibachs. But he said the car will look more even with bilstein.

I am using B12 on my e39 the front coil will be lower than the Eibach by 1 coil. the lowering is not 30mm. It's 33mm rear and 35mm front. the front clearence is 1 and a half fingers on the left and 1 finger on the right. The ride a liitle bumpy but bearable if you like you can try driving my car to see if it suits you. The handling however is awesome, hitting bumps is definite, no way around that unless you go back to standard touring

Ride height 1/2 finger for the front n 1 1/2 finger for the rear.
Rims are 18 inch..
hope that gives a clearer pic

Nice ride bro!!! I've got 18" wheels as well. Gives me a clear idea what the car would look like.

Thanks.

go get the b12..no regrets...as for speed bumps (those with the narrow strip) with4- 5 pax in the car, it will hit..better go slow.
ride wise, very firm but not harsh. Very stable during high speed corner as the handling is very predictable. (almost no body roll) And if you decide to change, you might want to consider changing the abs bushing/ mounting, and also the rear stop bump.
As for the front, the stop bump is in built into the shaft. ( in the b8 shaft).
Just sharing my personal experience. cheers.

do post some before and after pics of your lovely ride..you will enjoy the e 39.

a bit odd coz most of the time suspension lowering kits for bmw produce a more even fender gap between front and rear or maintains the bigger front gap.

Yup..i find the rear just slightly higher compare to the front..the lowering spring for the rear when compared to the original springs just prob about an inch lower..not very drastic while the front you can really see the difference.

i have eibach + b8 combo on the e39 and the rear is higher than the front
my brother's e34 has eibachs and the front is higher than the rear.

depends on the model, most lowered e34s have more gap in front.

As for the tyre gap, what profile of tyre used also effect the looks/gap.
eg. 265/35/18 rear and 235/40/18 front, show diff look/gap as oppose to 235/40/18 rear and 235/40/18 front.
