Hi All !Was wondering if anyone installed Bilstein B12/B8 in their E34 mine is E34 520i, 24V).I ordered the B12 (complete set; shocks and springs) from germany, part number verified to be correct for my car. However, my mechanic installed it incorrectly ( i.e the front has absolutely no give.. completely rigid front end. (there is no movement of my shocks at all, evident when the car is jacked up). So when I go over even small stones, my back is immediately broken !Have run it past another mechanic, and he has no idea what to do...Can anyone offer any modification advice / prior experiences? Thanks in advance !!Pro

please elaborate more, dun understand the words you trying to say...

is it lowered springs?

if it is, it could be that your bump stopper is too long..the car will end up bumping of the bump stoppers.

what do u mean "your back is immediately broken"?

try to send your car to wolverine workshop, blue green motor werk in batu 10 near nan yang sang pao.they are dealer for bilstein & also a very good workshop.

Hi guys,
thanks for your responses.
Am referring to the shock absorber struts that are not compressing when I go over bumps.
Am guessing that its something to do the locknut ABOVE the absorber that enters at the engine mount point having inadequate clearance...... ..
As for the' breaking my back' statement, was trying to say that the suspension is completely rigid at the front, and thus, when i go over any bump, the whole car bounces up and down according to any indentation in the road. Hope that makes it slightly clearer?

dun quite understand this statement ? the engine mount point is miles away from the top mount of the absorber or some where else...
