In every straight road run, it's no replacement for displacement. The R35 is way much more modern and powerful compared to the E36 M3. However, it will make the R35 driver sweat if the challenge were in the race track or maybe at Ulu Yum.
As the guys mentioned here, only way to satisfy your crave is to go for Modern BMW Turbo which is the 335i/535i/735i/Z4 3.5/135i models or go for Jap car and mod kau kau for power or get a biggest capacity engine running on v12. In fact, I would think a Wiralution with a good setup would also clock almost the same time or a little less than you have.
If you want to play straight line power, BMW may not be the car for you at the end of the day. Just my thoughts.
