kenangan indah di Johor...
Hmmm banyak gila... sekolah EC, boyz school but has form 6 girls, some of them are prefect and when they come into our classes for announcement, all diam, eyes fully on these girls like we have never seen girls for the last decade. Ironically, we have SETA girls next door, we see SIGS and Convent girls in town.
Sri Gelam, used to play cricket for the Johor State and yes EC boys we are not really fond of SDJ for many reasons. SIGS...glamor glamor... at that time, teens were hot on Neckerman snickers, Swatch watches, Umbro Bags and yes Reebok PUMP.
Makan, perghh, tempe goreng, pisang goreng and kicap, tahu bakar, mee jawa, laksa johor, asam pedas ikan parang, rojak singapore, lontong and many more... dishes that are very rare here up north. Even if they are folks selling, it is not the same as in Johor.
Pantai Lido...hmm tempat keta rosak or people do "project: tak kira siang malam. My house was at BBU and I always cycle there to play tennis. Got a lot of friends and uncles at the tennis courts who subsidized me playing there. Poor ma at that time, can not afford Boris Becker Puma racket, so uncle Thomas the coach there gave me one. There were many great uncles and friends there.
We left Johor in 1992 and go back once a while. I missed the Johor and Johoreans. There is a different feeling and social unity in Johor that I can not find here up the north. People are united, may be becoz 99% are UMNO I guess, but then even the non Malays, there are a nice and warm folks too. Had many great Chinese and Indian friends there too, hopefully I'll get to meet them again some day. Johor Rock Man... mentioning that, many great bands came from Johor..
