hhhmmm.... sounds like the final stage resistor..

oo..my comp cant see pic in this forum..how much doest it cost...some more my aircond also not cold..go to have it check and the mech told my gas is ok and dont require refill...any idea?

When it dies off, is the blower still running? Or is it just the compressor not running?

Mine used to have intermittent problem, blower only not cold. On N42 there's an electric clutch to engage the compressor. Mine had a bad connection and the clutch sometime engages when hitting a bump. Changing the clutch fixes the problem.

no air comming from the vent when it die..totaly die...the compressor im not so sure..it happen for about a minute..

Check your radiator fan. This may be one of the symtoms of high temp on your ac system. When a typical ac system gets too hot, it will shut down completely. When restart after a while ( reset or cool down) it will be normal again.
Check and see if you face ths problem when your car engine is hot ie when running stationary, hot weather , during traffic jam etc.....if yes, that may mean your fan controller may be damaged and it runs only on low speed.

Just my 2 cents.

my fan was newly changed by last owner...1 day before i take ownership from him..but still it maybe faulty..still, ayone know what the problem contributing to aircod not cold, produce burning smell while driving and masam smell in the morning??

One of the symptoms of broken down First Stage Unit (some a/c people call it resistor) is your air cond suddenly have a mind of its own. For example, it is blowing slow for a while, then suddenly fan speed can just increase instantaneously, and sometimes it totally switch off. FSU should cost somewhere around RM300++ if im not mistakken (correct me if im wrong sifus coz i forgot the cost since i changed it last year)

A/C not cold can be due to some reasons, mainly leak in the a/c system such as cooling coil, compressor, expansion valve, hoses, etc. The simplest way to determine if there is a leak is just to charge some refrigerant to yr a/c. Note the psi / pressure for that day. Then maybe after a few days / one week, check the pressure again for your a/c refrigerant. If there is a drop, then confirm there is a leak somewhere. And sometimes, it can oso be caused by heater valve not functioning / blocked.

AB tech told me before that the car was engineered to "channel" the cold air to certain vents only when the system is low on refrigerant. So, when one of the blower vent suddenly got hot air only while the other is cold air, the system is low on refrigerant.

And regarding the "masam smell", i read somewhere in this forum its an indication of cooling coil leak. Try searching this forum for that problem.

Hope you can troubleshoot the problem bro :)

thank a lot man...really good info..just hopimg that you can describe a bit more on how to charge the refrigant as you mentioned..is it DIY??

just take it to any a/c shop and ask them to take refrigerant pressure reading at that current day. If low, then they will charge refrigerant to your system. Then after one week or so u can go and take the reading again, if the refrigerant volume is still at diff level, then there is a leak somewhere. I know it's a little bit troublesome, but at least you get to rule out leakage.

You can DIY if you have a pressure gauge for a/c system. :) All you need is to put the pressure gauge to your a/c line. But i really think u should just go and ask those a/c shops to check it out.

Just curious...when u say the aircon die off, is the air cond controller still ON?

not quiete sure Bro Petrus because it happen while i was driving..just notice that the aircond die...if im not mistaken the control light is still on...if it happen again then ill let you now..ill take your advice and bring my UDM to ac shop this weekend...thanks for the advice...

I had the same problem too...Intermetently AC dead with no air blowing out al all but control panel all lit up.

I changed the resistor as shown by bro Petrus at Naidu's Jalan Gasing and no issue after that.

AC problem

hi meiolo86,
Just asking-is your problem solved now-coz I've got AC problem too, quite similar to your problem i think.TQ

sory bro, i havent repair my aircond yet. after the incident, the problem never occur again so dicided to wait for the repair untill it happen again.

woah Bro Petrus no Sifu edy :p thanx for the info... this one invaluable point

mine is kinda funny...hot air blown when outside is raining. I've checked the car once with scanner, no issue on the AC system but got "red error" on outside temperature. Any relation??

I think its a climate control thing. When the AC is blowing cold air, outside temp showing -40degC all the time (as a result from bad sensor), and when its start to rain outside, suddenly the sensor is working but with fluctuating reading...if it is about above 10degC, i got cold air, else, hot air blowing through the vent. need to switch off AC that time, else, my windscreen goes fogged!

Anyone experience the same problem? Changing the outside temperature sensor would solve?

im no sifu lah bos...i jus share some little knowledge wot i know

mine hv problem with a/c too...but mine i think is the electronic clutch thingy is faulty...sometime blow hot air...sometimes it works..can feel the car jerking wen the clutch trying to engage..idle also not so stable...wen the a/c trying to engage on n off...
